Moderators Zico Posted March 21 Moderators Share Posted March 21 one thing I remember about Neil Ruddock the day before we played Liverpool in the LC final in 95 was April Fools Day predator boots were a thing at the time the Sun ran a story saying for the final, Ruddock who was known for his heading would be wearing a predator style headband called The Headator for extra power and precision I belived it and thought it wasn't fucking fair

I remember that day, me and my daughter took a couple from West Brom into the Wagon & Horses, doormen weren't happy but allowed them in, they were a decent couple, I remember the pitch was barren and it was cowd

BobyBrno
I remember when I first got involved with WW, that dinner at the Reebok. Sat next to Neil, probably, some others on here were on the same table. Paddy McGuinness, Dave Spikey and Phil Gartside. Full house in the Lion of Vienna suite. Great night. More importantly, raised a lot of money for the heart unit at Bolton Hospital. It was probably the best but there were a few others. Some on here involved in the organisation. All deserve credit. 👏

Must have been good nights.😊 Pity we don’t do them anymore but they do take a lot of organising which is why all those previously involved deserve a lot of credit. 👍

Was it not Kevin Lynch - saw him at the Holiday Inn a few years back - very good. Flogging his autobiography 'Lynch the Ref'. He reffed the last match at Burnden as his last match too

Strange that he is now presenting Children in Need and still not very good and Dave Spikey has disappeared virtually. Seems he was doing stuff on a tour ending early this year. Dave Spikey’s side-splitting show for Derian House | Lancashire Telegraph Phoenix Nights star Dave Spikey is back touring the North West with his new stand-up show and for one night only is donating ticket profits to his local children’s hospice, Derian House. Famous for co-writing and co-starring in the Channel 4 critically acclaimed series, the multi-award-winning comedian was applauded onto the stage at Chorley Theatre on November 29 in the second show of his tour. Dave, who has lived in Chorley since 1989, had his audience in stitches with his 'Life in a Northern Town' show and profits from tickets will go towards for the 400 babies, children and young people that Derian House cares for. He said: “I have known about Derian House ever since it first opened its doors and it has always been a big landmark in the Chorley community. “I chose to support Derian because the more you read about it, the more you realise it’s a fantastic cause. "The hospice is a wonderful place and is not just well known in the area, but also nationally, for providing incredible care for children and their families. "I am very proud to support what they do.”
