Good idea this. At the minute I'm not using the ST for about 6/8 games a season. If that means someone can have the option of buying a ticket in ESL, club gets to make a bit of money and I get a tenner seems all round good. If it doesn't sell, I'm no worse off.

Fiver back for each time I put the kids up is great too - I could be in profit on that one!

He could also stop the ban on ticket sales in ESL

That seemed to have quietly disappeared on Monday given they sold right the way under the screen. Be interesting to see if the netting returns for the Pompey game.

I'm just a bit sceptical about letting the club sell Junior's ticket for £30 and then give me a £10 credit.

These schemes always seem to benefit those suggesting them more than those it is aimed at.

I'll file it under bookies cash-out offers etc.

Tenner credit is better than the zero at the minute tbf

A female steward prevented a lad in WSL from standing chatting to another Bolton fan over the fence between West and South stands. Apparently it was still a segregation issue.

Between 1000 and 3000 ST seats not used each match.

If thats true , and I have no doubt that it isnt, then it has to be a good idea.

Compare the empty seats against Reading to when we sold out at a capacity of 25000 and it wasnt even close.

Still think any unsold tickets at 14:30 on a matchday should be given away for free.

You'd end up selling fuck all and having loads of folk rocking up at 2.30 for a freebie

Me included

Blimey, it's like over the garden wall sometimes, where I am, in WSL/NSL corner.

We used to walk round from WSL to NSL along the back row after the match has finished whilst the players depart.  They leave a steward on now to stop you going through.

Fckin daft

I was talking to a Leeds season ticket holder last season. He says they have no physical card, and the digital season ticket they recieve can't be copied (screenshot etc) to give to a mate. If he can't attend his only option is to sell back to the club for a tenner, or leave his seat empty.

They can still pass it on to friends and family or they can sell it back. The one thing they can’t do is leave it completely empty over a certain threshold of games.

How is that enforced, retina scanning?

It’s not specifically the season ticket holder themselves as they can still pass it on, it’s just either got to be the season ticket being scanned in or the seat being sold back to the club (both of which are easy enough to check).

All about the Premier League image. Thou shalt not see empty seats. Utd and Liverpool have had similar policies for years. Just depends on your circumstances whether it works for you or not.

Points 1 and 2 above seem to indicate simply passing on your ticket isn't allowed/possible. I have no idea how that works unless you have to show ID to match the ticket at the time of entry

They’ll hold the tickets within a specific app rather than Apple wallet so the barcode exists only once. Easy enough to transfer within it, quite a few cricket clubs use it for internationals etc

I read point 2 as being you can pass it on but you have to do it officially via an app or scheme or something

Essentially though they are saying one way or another someone has to use it or your not having one

I've always wondered how the "full house every week" clubs avoid having empty seats for routine night matches in winter and that rule would explain it.

And it stops richer folk buying a S/T that they might only intend using a few times a season, especially cheaper kids one's.

No danger of us not being "invited to renew for the following season" any time soon!

Thanks for the straight bat response but I was taking the piss.

Really good idea, it's so annoying when it says it's sold out on lower tiers when it's got empty seats everywhere

Does it actually annoy you?

I, like most others I'd imagine, just shrug my shoulders and assume loads of ST holders just couldn't be arsed turning up.  It must really fuck with the heads of the attendnonces though.

I wonder if they spend the whole game muttering, “Grrrr!” Just to show all around them how annoyed they are.

“Wait, wait! There’s another empty seat! Grrrr!”
