Zico Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I'd rather support Scotland then England with Lampard in charge Quote
kent_white Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 I don't think your manager should be allowed to come from another country. Seems to fly in the face of the idea of the competition. Felt that way when we had Erikson and Capello who were both shit. Southgate may well prove to be shit - but at least he'll be our shit! GSTK 😁 Quote
CJG Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 FIFA should change the rules so only shit countries outside the top 30, like Scotland, can have a foreign manager. Quote
captainmed Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 (edited) I honestly don’t think it matters what nationality they are. One day they will get the monkey off their back and win something. Its surely got to be a mental thing because sure as hell the quality has been there over the years. Edited June 25, 2024 by captainmed Quote

Or do the 'farmers league' deludeds get carried away with our 'quality' because they aren't football worldly wise enough to have the remotest clue what is out there in terms of opposition? I go for the second option. Quote

I go for the second option. Bookies are usually in the right ball park though. Unfortunately, we've got a manager who won't take the shackles off. I do agree with the captain though- wonder if there is a bit of a mental barrier. Or possibly that playing for your country here, isn't as meaningful to some as it is in other nations. Quote

Underpants Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 If Carsley wants the job he should get it. As has been shown in the past. The big name, or the person who is in vogue at that time, has not been the answer. If Southgate had been in charge of another country over the past 8 years then I can guarantee he would get offered the England job. And I can't imagine that many would complain. Quote

London Wanderer Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 If Pep declares he’s interested after the City contract is up then it’s a no brainer for me. Best manager in the world right now. As much as I despise City. We’d be daft not to wait, & hasn’t he said he doesn’t want the Spain job? Pep might be a bit too woke for our Bolty though. I think Barton would suit him best, shame he’s a shite manager really. Can’t see Klopp coming, as ace as that would be. Be delighted with Howe as well. Quote

Us hetero’s are fickle bastards. Not much we wouldn’t do for a sexy boss. Quote
