Popular Post miamiwhite Posted June 2, 2025 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2025 Many thanks again to you all, truly appreciate the kind words ♥ On the day in question, I went to work feeling fine. Stayed like that until about 10am when my head was absolutely pounding, at first I thought it was a tension headache or migraine, but it gradually got worse. I carried on working until about 11am when I started dropping tools as my grip had gone. By 11-15, the pain in the head was horrendous then I quickly lost feeling in my feet, my arm started with pain, and I was clinging onto the doors of the van. Directly facing where I was working in Cheetham Hill, the housing were having a HSE meeting, one came outside, saw me struggling and in severe pain but said later he thought I was pissed. By 11-30, I remember thinking to myself, I'm in serious trouble here. Tried ringing a work colleague but couldn't even speak. Luckily, we'd spoke earlier and he came flying round. We both didn't know what it was though, initially thinking blood or sugar levels. I tried speaking to my partner on her lunch break,,but was just talking broken biscuits My main manager was called and on arrival he instantly said "get him to hospital, he's having a stroke" Was taken to North Manchester General, who then blueliighted me to Fairfield. They did many tests and pumped me with all sorts, saying By 5pm if it was nipped in the bud then my speech would return. Thank God By that time it did, though after the initial meds wore off, I was stuttering for weeks, my partner lovingly christened me Arkwright ☺ For weeks after, I was regularly overwhelmed when going into Tesco for example, couldn't remember bank details, NI number, etc, took ages doing a simple text, and underwent Cardio Event Monitoring and had other scans. Thankfully all came back clear So guys and girls, take it easy please and always seek help when you're in difficulty, the first few hours were vital. Mine was classed as a TIA but my work colleague's mum had one recently and wouldn't go to hospital, poor old girl still hasn't recovered her speech yet. Thank you again one and all Si x Quote
