Although living an hour away it does become a chore at times. Hence I just don't do night games anymore. £5.15 for a pint to me is a rip off. But that's just sporting events in general. But it's what we do innit. I go to spend time with my old man, kids and various other not rights and scallywags either in the hotel, under the stand or around us in the seats. The vibe around the place has been brilliant the past few seasons. I just dread the way it seems to be going. But I won't be giving up because the players aren't playing how I want them to be. It's fuck all like an entertainment business. And if you think it is, you're in for a life of heaven and hell watching a club like ours. Spot on. Taking away the current temporary issues, going to the game last 2 or 3 years has for the most part been a pleasure to be looked forward to. Admittedly the triple whammy of us nearly going out of business / the Covid year / threatening to be a L2 or even non league team for a while, has reawakened my enthusiasm. I appreciate every single game there now, much more than I did 10 years or so ago. Quote

It's an entertainment business, and if I'm not enjoying the experience either because the football is shit or they aren't winning then I'll probably not go. Simple as that. You weren't at Aldershot were you? Quote

Win: Evatt's sides are powder-puff flat track bullies and generally win this type of game but not the ones against top of the table sides or derbies. Not looking forward to Saturday afternoons from a BWFC perspective. I get what you're saying but I find myself reverting to Chaucers 'Mighty oaks from little acorns grow'. You just get the feeling that any sort of win would provide an uplift in spirits and a small stepping stone to a better place. Anything other than a win and toxic is the word. Quote
Krimzon Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Gonna batter Reading not only do we owe em but I remember back at Burnden we hadnt scored for 5 league games , played Reading at home and Phillskirk scored with his bollocks. 2 for Macatee , 1 each for Collins and Charles. Quote

Par for the course even before the captive audience argument. £5.15 at the Reebok for Carling cocker. Aye, you're right there will be gaffs in Poulton charging that I suppose. It's the countries issue not Bolton ....theres a gaff called Secrets just opened in Blackpool selling £2 pints by the way. You'll come out feeling more fisted than you did after Huddersfield that's for certain. Quote
Members Lt. Aldo Raine Posted September 18 Members Posted September 18 Interesting quotes from Thomason published this morning (possibly the start of him taking the initiative as captain) Quote

These comments can be interpreted negatively or positively. IMO it looks like Evatt is surrounding himself with those who give the same message and who value and appreciate him. He’s wanting players to take some accountability for sorting things out even if it means some finger pointing on the pitch. Time will tell whether this reaps rewards or creates more division. Quote

If there was a split in the camp already, there will be a bigger one now. I'd off good odds on Santos not starting. Quote

Leaders needed all over the pitch, That said, It would be a real confidence sapper for Santos to have it taken off him Quote

That would be a first under IE, from day one of his reign he's been picked if available, only him and Jones are even at the club now. We're already struggling and we'd be taking out our best defender. Not happening IMO. Quote

Yes, hopefully relinquishing the captaincy can mean he's able to focus on his own performances, without any distractions. I'm absolutely not having that it was "taken" from him. Quote

Unless I’ve missed it, other than Twitter cranks, I’ve not heard anyone from the club, or Iles etc talk about this idea of Santos losing the captaincy? I agree with @Casino it’s a silly suggestion. Does anyone really think that being told you’ve failed at being a leader, you’re not an influencer any more, your voice isn’t heard etc is really going to help and benefit him going into Saturday? He’ll be completely demoralised! And I also agree with @Johnnyrotten he’s playing Saturday, still our best defender. I mean, if he doesn’t or if he does and he’s been stripped of the captaincy, then well it just adds more fuel to the fire that there’s divisions taking place. It would be another retrograde step. Marc505 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Press conference tomorrow will hopefully deal with the captaincy thing once and for all. Could be box office that conference actually. Quote

I'd sooner see a culture where there's a lad that tosses a coin at 2.55 but from then on there are plenty of leaders George's comments (good on him again) are a positive for me, hopefully to be reflected in the squad's attitude and body language on Saturday Quote
boltonboris Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Yep and if they can't take criticism, or lack accountability, then they play for the B team instead until we move them on Quote
