He didn't have the pace to get away from the lad so waited for the contact. Wasn't a foul though but not a dive. He looks for it a bit too much at times though I can understand his frustration too, with being knocked about and grappled by bigger physical units most of the game and ref taking little notice.

I get the feeling that Refs in general don’t like Dion Charles & are more than happy to award him fuck all.

One of our lot said today, "do you not think that refs are less inclined to give us things because of Evatts behaviour towards officials?".

I'd honestly not considered that before, and not saying it's true but definitely made me think.

If he wishes.

But, as you, he should then expect an appropriate comeback.

In your case, you have form for such comments over managers, so you'd be no different.

All of which is irrelevant: it's a forum, and if folk are effectively being told to shut up for  honestly expressing an opinion, then that's a great shame.

It also doesn't get away from the fact that we're still miles away from the performance levels needed.

Fucking hell pal.

You’re a good egg

You want people to come back and debate that we’re miles off???

Tonight???

Really???

Yes Evatt might not be the answer, but fucking hell enjoy tonight!! 🤣

I thought I’d checked out, but I can’t let that ride 😊

Tonight is not time to bring up performance levels being miles away.

Enjoy the night! We’ve just won a game having gone behind, been shit, but then come good!

If you can’t enjoy tonight then it’s time to give up

and Huddersfiled, and Exeter (so I'm questioning my earlier comment that today was the worst in memory!)

Huddersfield (and Stockport) only got really bad once heads fell off and the goals started racking up. Exeter were simply the better side. That first half today just felt like we were lacking anything to cling on to against a largely hopeless team, and I think that’s why it felt so bad.

Haven't seen a crowd figure for today.  Looked like about 15k on max of the 22K sold.

That had to be the smallest home attendance on a Saturday for many years.  Atmosphere, considering it was a derby, was flat as a pancake, no sense of occasion.  I just didn't get that feel that the crowd was willing the team on, all very disengaged, the enthusiasm for an IE team has ebbed away.

Not in the 94th minute though. Brilliant day, the crowd needs to get back onside, suppose only wins will do that.

Jesus christ man, we won, with a last minute winner FFS. Ask any football fan and they will (or should) tell you that that is the most exciting and satisfying way to win a game. That feeling when that hit the back of the net today is what we turn up for every week.

Embrace it, enjoy it while it lasts. Is everything perfect at the club right now? Is it fuck. But if you can't enjoy that feeling today, then maybe it's not for you.

🍻🍻🍻🍻

Last week it was we never win derbies…he’s an Evatt outer whatever he does.

A few factors to throw in, pissing rain, travel issues for some, the Sky Sports+ 12.30 effect, a fair few no doubt ummed and ahhed then stopped in and watched on box. I sit opposite ESL, fewest I've seen in there since that rearranged Cheltenham game last season.

Eventually though, when we'd something to shout about, the atmosphere was pretty good

We usually have five there . O today. Not sure many will have travelled any great distance today, snow with an early kick off. If you think about logically why would anyone drive over Penines this morning ?

Look I'm buzzing about the win, any league win is big for me but to beat a local rival makes it even better, and for it to be a 94th minute winner, we'll remember that for a long time.  But today was more evidence that we aren't good enough under IE, it was appalling for large parts and that wasn't a day for anyone to say IE deserves more time, it was yet another day of realisation that this team is well short of where it needs to be.

Pissing down, early kick off and on tv. Have to admit I was tempted to give it a swerve

Glad I didn’t

I have the luxury of living relatively close but I've been going to every home game for 43 years and I've never once given the weather a thought in terms of enthusiasm for going to the game.  If we're at home, why would I stay at home, it will still be a dark wet day at home 😀

To be fair I may have thought twice about standing on the Embankment today, or that end at Stockport in the open.  I'm grateful for our superb stadium on days like today.

(Anyway, never in my life have we got to December and not one home league game has ended in the dark!)

And duly rewarded for your effort, assuming you're not one of the dafties that leave early.

As I said earlier in the thread, that feeling is the reason we turn up every week. Doesn't always pay off, but when it does..... If you could bottle that feeling you'd make a fortune.

Anyway, I'm pissed, giddy and loving being a wanderer tonight. So I'm gonna log off before I make a rum induced tit of myself now.

Love to you all fellow whites!! Enjoy this high today, cos the lows will defo be in the post 😂❤️

Fair play, that's a tough one for early kick offs especially in this weather.

My brother and nephew come over from Lincoln whenever they can, and the weather within reason wouldn't come into it, they are just pleased when their circumstances give them the chance to come (all 3 afternoon games in December as it happens).

Chatted to one of them in the Harvester post game.

He’s joining in with the chants, then says to me; “Glad we beat them fuckers, I left before the end, who got the winner?!”

I mean, I know there’s levels and all that, and it beats Zog tuning in on his VPN, hoping we’d lose, so he could spout some more genius tactics, but surely you’re not leaving that game early if you’re heart is BWFC??

I'm one of the idiots that always stays til the end, even when losing heavily.

I've said to my mate who is trigger happy at leaving early that I'll never understand it when it's still all to play for. Just blows my mind. My mate has missed loads of goals that I'd consider some of my greatest moments in the last few years, home and away. I just don't get it.

Where I am. A fair bit to like second half, Tomo and Schon set the tone, dragged us back into it then pushed us on again. Schon's drives and deliveries were brilliant, really taking to him. We should have won it in the 10 mins after we levelled it. We could also have let it slip though, they had a few good situations, especially when Collins nearly gifted them the game, but final ball was poor. Was surprised how open it still was near the end, they kept having a go rather than bedding in for a point.

All of that, Tomo's super goal, Collins winner, scenes at the end were great, chest up chin out tomorrow in Cleveleys 🤣 but it shouldn't just gloss over a horrific first half where the formation didn't work, the attitude was dreadful and effort even worse. All that first 45 minutes showed was Evatt has next to no influence on their mentality when the whistle goes for kick off. I'm a pretty placid sort who's seen it all over the years but that half was a disgrace.

And of all reasons, why leave early to go to the Harvester…?!

Agree with all of that.  Regarding it being open till the end, that's the 2nd home game running (after Posh) that I've thought the opposition could relatively easily have seen the game out as a draw if they'd adopted the 10 men back mentality of so many teams that come here.  But they made the game open and so we always had a chance on the "break".  Collins goal, as good as it was, doesn't happen against most L1 teams, we simply wouldn't have had the luxury of attacking against half a team instead of 9 men. The 2nd half was an entertaining spectacle and some credit to Blackpool for that.
