Are we finally going to become consistent under SS. The signs so far are amazing but it would be very Bolton to put in a shocker and lose this.

Still think we’ll shit em tho. 0-3

He certainly bringing the best out of them. Seems a greater sense of camaraderie and positive aggression as much as anything else.

Quality is building at the same time.

That next step has to be that consistency of winning.

We've started to overcome the top teams now, just got to avoid any complacency and do what we have been doing.

Just been looking at Burton's run in.

By the fuckery they couldn't wish for a worse set of games.

That said, in their position, they have nothing to lose, and who knows could play a big role in the shake up at the top end.

Just got to do them at the weekend, and put pressure on them to get results against our near rivals.

Oh no, not again. It's costing me a fortune, a quid at a time.

If not Burton, then chase your losses and double up on Bristol Rovers next Tuesday, and if not treble up etc

It's coming

Oooh, I like that.

If you start with £1 and double it every week for a year the final value would be:

£4,503,599,627,370,496

That's over 4.5 quadrillion (4.5 × 10^15).

it's a mere £67m for 26 weeks.

Either way would clear by old tab at The Saddle.

I'll be honest you've lost me there

I'm just on about backing us incrementally by £1 each game until we win 5-0

But more so because I always skip the saddle, shite pub

I think by ‘double up’ it sounds like you are saying £2 next game, then £4 etc etc. which I do not think that is what you mean

It is called the Monte Carlo system in casinos when you do this but in evens bets such as ‘high’ or ‘low’. In theory it works but after 9 losses you would be betting £512 for a £1 profit.  Given casinos have £5 minimum on these bets it gets very expensive.

Yeah I just meant £1 on 5-0 this weekend

Then £2 v Bristol rovers

£3 v Stockport etc until it comes in

Till the end of the season it would cost about £78

Ah, I was doubling it each time.

I was barred from the Saddle in 1976. Never dared go back.

Gary Bowyer seems to have done wonders with the Burton squad since his appointment in December. It’s taken time but he’s made them very solid and difficult to beat which is the first priority for a team in a relegation battle.

All their recent games have been close affairs or at least closer than they would have been in the earlier part of the season and they’ve ground out plenty of draws and a couple of wins by the odd goal.

I have a feeling it’s going to be hard work on Saturday and the scoreline will be low with maybe just the one goal in it so I won’t be lumping on 5 nil this week.

it would be nice to score first for a change but 0 - 0 is a possibility - hopefully we’ll turn on the style and do ‘em.

                    Southwood

         Toal       Forino     Johnston

Cogley           Sheehan           Schon

                Morley    Tommo

                  Mcatee Collins

Another one impossible to predict, but fun predicting and debating.

Seems crazy leaving out 2 of our better players from Tuesday in CMG and Tutu. Just purely on the basis of fatigue/protecting them.

And thinking they could come in on Tuesday.

Schon, and an extra midfielder might help us be solid and robust in possession. Seeing more of the ball might open it up for Sheehan.

Keep the big boys in at the back - Toal and Forino. Get Forrester back for Bristol.

Just as likely to be 4-3-3 with a completely different team 😂

I like that team but what a treat to be able to have the likes of CMG, Desmond and Randall to bring on.

I know it's not entirely accurate to say, but I kind of see Burton as a BTEC Wrexham, tough to beat, will launch balls into the box with a 352 shape and will try to score of set pieces.

If we defend like we did at Wrexham last week but add more quality on the ball we should get the 3 points. Obviously football isn't always so straightforward.

If we can win there for the first time in our history and never play them again then that would be more than welcome please!

Don’t know latest on injury news, but interesting choice of Forino or Forrester if both fit. I’d personally put Will back in - his performances over the last month warrant him being first pick I think.
