Don’t know latest on injury news, but interesting choice of Forino or Forrester if both fit. I’d personally put Will back in - his performances over the last month warrant him being first pick I think.

if theyre both fit, its forino for me

if its forrester, i think murphy needs to be back in

I think by ‘double up’ it sounds like you are saying £2 next game, then £4 etc etc. which I do not think that is what you mean

It is called the Monte Carlo system in casinos when you do this but in evens bets such as ‘high’ or ‘low’. In theory it works but after 9 losses you would be betting £512 for a £1 profit.  Given casinos have £5 minimum on these bets it gets very expensive.

£1 initial stake on Fibonacci sequence means a stake of £102,334,155 by game 40.

That'll sort the men from the boys.

Cogley           Sheehan           Schon

                Morley    Tommo

                  Mcatee Collins

Another one impossible to predict, but fun predicting and debating.

Seems crazy leaving out 2 of our better players from Tuesday in CMG and Tutu. Just purely on the basis of fatigue/protecting them.

And thinking they could come in on Tuesday.

Schon, and an extra midfielder might help us be solid and robust in possession. Seeing more of the ball might open it up for Sheehan.

Keep the big boys in at the back - Toal and Forino. Get Forrester back for Bristol.

Just as likely to be 4-3-3 with a completely different team 😂

I can see a 4 at the back tomorrow, with Forrester coming back from injury and Forino just back after a lengthy lay off. Similar reasons to rest Tutu and CMG.

SS seems to be managing minutes better than Evatt on this stuff, not changes for change sake, but not risking players who are already an injury risk (Etete excepted).

If he does rest players I reckon:

Southwold

JDC, Toal, Johnston, Murphy

Lolos, Tomo, Morley, Schon

McAtee, Collins

I know it's not entirely accurate to say, but I kind of see Burton as a BTEC Wrexham, tough to beat, will launch balls into the box with a 352 shape and will try to score of set pieces.

If we defend like we did at Wrexham last week but add more quality on the ball we should get the 3 points. Obviously football isn't always so straightforward.

If we can win there for the first time in our history and never play them again then that would be more than welcome please!

Did you think we defended well at Wrexham?  I thought they created chances without having to try too hard, just routine crosses.  Thankfully they missed them (3 clear one's in 2nd half, a couple of less easy one's 1st half) because Southwood wasn't saving them if they'd been on target.  Nothing like the Brum game who didn't even have half chances really other than the goal.

For me, we have to defend better than we did at Wrexham if we want "Burton nil..."

Not bothering with which formation or starting line up. Doesn’t matter anymore.

If we play with even 90% of the energy and passion of Tuesday night then we win this game. If that’s with certain players starting or coming off the bench, starting 5 at the back or 4 at the back, I don’t care - SS knows better than me (and genuinely at times I was questioning whether Evatt did).

Think you're right Eddie. If we match 90% level from Tuesday then we win all our remaining games except maybe Wycombe and that's doable if we recreate it 100%

Ah, I was doubling it each time.

I was barred from the Saddle in 1976. Never dared go back.

What did you get barred for?

A big win wold be nice but a single goal margin to us I suspect... their goalie will bring his own mattress to lie on while holding onto the ball and getting "treatment"... lots of 4th Official stuff and fking about... not going to be classic... do the job and get out of Dodge.

We hit the woodwork didn't we, and their keeper made a worldy.

They were dead jammy! 🤣

You've lost me there mate, not for the first time.

I said they had some chances that on another day go into our net.  Not sure how you've twisted that to say we were lucky to draw 🙄  A draw was fair result from a poor game (and you forgot our disallowed goal).

Crack on if you thought we defended great, I'll just offer my opinion.

If he goes 4-4-2, and considering the number of fit defenders we now have, I reckon Murphy’s had enough chances.

I also think Tutu is due a break to the bench. I’d also like to get the strikers a break, but options are few. Hopefully, early goals allows earlier subs!

I don’t disagree. But I don’t think Murphy is a League One LB, either.

For this reason 3-5-2 is the short-term solution. I don’t think SS can play his preferred back four, if Murphy is the only option available.

I don’t know if he has looked at Inwood in training, gauging him against Murphy. If he compares, then I’d sooner give our own youngster an opportunity.

I was taking my "one for the road" too literally & walking home drinking it.

After several weeks Pat put a hand written note up saying "Glass Amnesty. Bring them back, no questions asked".

I walked in a few days later with about 25 glasses in a box. He looked a bit ansty & I pointed to the sign.

He said "yeah, that's when I thought I had a glass issue. Now I know it was a YOU issue !! You can f'cough. Yer barred".

I think it’s just become part of the common thought that players play a few games in a row and they need a rest, so I see where you’re coming from.

I actually reckon that they’d hate the idea though. I get the sense that both will want to play every minute of every game from now until the end of the season. Collins was at his best the back end of last season when he was playing week in week out, and I reckon McAtee would be even more in that mindset.

Get them both on the pitch as much as we can IMO. Let them take us up. They can have a rest on the beach this summer when they’re celebrating promotion.

Spoons then Burton Bridge Inn for us. Was decent a few years ago.

Seem to remember a good chippy from there to the ground.

Murphy said Howe had told him to be the best player on the park and TBF he’s looked like a Moss Bank park player at times. Clearly has talent and athleticism but seems unfamiliar with the role and especially the positioning required for LB.

Maybe it’s being used to Newcastle’s style or maybe he’s just a WIP but with the plethora of experienced CBs we now have available I’d be surprised to see him get another run out barring crises.

Think we’d become accustomed to ‘after the Lord Mayors show’ the last few years. You could pretty much bank on the type of performance and result today after being great the game before.

it’s little things like following that 9/10 performance up with a decent 7 or 8 today that will show if we’re properly beginning to turn the corner.

would take a solid and professional 2-1 with the score making the game look closer that it actually was

Need this Burton monkey off our back today and then the 2 other monkeys later in the month / next month.

Schuey nails that which Im confident he can, then it’s well and truly on.
