DMBs won Trebles scoring last minute goals.

They were fitter than everyone else and stayed driven and focused to the very end.

It's a rather good trait to have.

We've kept the points ticking over , ground out results . I know the gap to 2nd seems large , but put yourself in the Lincoln fans and players heads , they look over their shoulder at the chasing pack , Bolton pick up 6 points from injury time winners in the last two games,  we scored a last kick equaliser against them at home , they will have negative thoughts about us , have doubts in their head, " Bolton scored late again ... Bloody hell ... ****** "

People think there's undue negativity on here at times... imagine if we'd just dicked Bradford at home and someone was panicking about a side we had six points and a game in hand over?

I don't think they'll be having sleepless nights about Big Sam and his Super White army just yet. Keep this run going and beat them at home in a few weeks, then let's see where we are.

whilst we've scored in 90+ for the 10th time

this is why i back opposition half time / bolton full time

though that's only come in once i think v huddersfield

which suggests we're not conceding first either

As someone put on Twatter, maybe they should do half season tickets just for the second halves

Looked at Lincoln’s games coming up and if Plymouth beat them and we can win the next two we have a chance of getting level on points if we can win at theirs.

March is horrible for Lincoln as they play Cardiff, Exeter and Doncaster (seemed to have turned it round) away and  Stockport and Huddersfield at home.

We just need to start playing well again and we will have a reasonable chance of getting up

Everyone will be saying that about our last 6 or 7 games though too.

you’re right in the respect of if ever there was a time to catch them it’s over the next 4-6 weeks but I think we’d need to better the points haul we got from that set of fixtures earlier in the season to keep them at bay

Some good some bad last night. Seemed to create more chances than recent and some improved performances.

Dalby obviously very good but shout out to McAtee who looked like he’s getting back to something like form. Good energy, control and passing. Could be a big player in the run in.

Agree on Morley stank the place out and needs to move on now.

Turns out you can touch the ball with your hands from a back pass if you have made an initial attempt to clear it with your feet. Should have been play on so because play had been stopped unnecessarily whilst in the area, the ball goes back to the goalkeeper

I got the fact it should have been play on, did not see where the ball ended up.

Not sure it's a massive surprise why McAtee did well last night and hasnt been though most of the season.

In the 4231 basically all our attacking moves go out wide (this isnt how youre meant to do 4231) which is why the no10 positon has been cursed for us, they dont get the ball.

In this current double no10 formation, balls are getting fed to the 10's early, which they're then moving forward with for the wing backs to overlap or to attack right though the middle. This is bread and butter stuff for McAtee.

I'm not sure SS is getting a harder time than Evatt got.

Initially, Evatt got success, finishing higher each time.

Then it all went South, his shed went and the rest is history.

SS has come in, swapped players, and coaches, and as yet hasn't completely justified the promise we all felt upon his arrival.

The club has said promotion is necessary, and has made that clear to SS.

Maybe harsh, but that was the task when he arrived.

The fans know and are starting to become a bit impatient- rightly or wrongly.

Have a listen to Gary Bowyer's post match interview, where he comments directly that our crowd will get on the players' backs- it is a clear tactic teams will use.

Maybe that was what SS was referring to recently when he said young players had to get used to the pressure.

If we can get another 2 or 3 straight wins, and maybe look more accomplished, then confidence will return to the fans, and the atmosphere may become a bit more positive.

We have to win on Saturday for me, and start clawing back towards the "two points per game" rate.

He's a prick that interviewer, always salty when he does the comms on our away games, believe his son plays cricket for Blackrod.....probably a closet Wigginer. But an all round twat.

He said it again last night! Surely somebody put him right after last time!

If they were winning games and flying I'd potentially think he was doing it as a wind up now, but they aren't, so surely not!

1st half was awful from both sides. Once we scored Burton had more of a go and it opened up at but more. Like a few sides this season once they tried playing football they looked better than the spoilers they'd set out to be.

Few winge bags moaning at Gale for not chasing lost causes that Usain Bolt in full flight would've struggled to reach.

I didn't see that side of their performance at all.  Their CBs were ball players, as non-physical as any CBs I've seen here this season, they left someone up on halfway when we had a corner - unbelievably that meant we had to leave 2 back (naive from Bowyer, he can only learn); they broke through our back line 3 times and god knows how they didn't score, poor execution in the end.

I read a few times that "we played poor 1st half but should have been 2 up if GJ and KD had scored" - as if we are the only team allowed to finish our chances, yes we could have been 2 up, and so could Burton.  It was an even 1st half, almost end to end, in a slow way.  One of the least negative teams we've played from 1st minute to 90th considering most of the game they were level.

Ref, not as  sad as some but let an obvious booking go early and then no idea why the lad did not have to leave the pitch.

Not sure if anyone else has answered, and I wondered the same at the time, but apparently you don't go off the pitch if the opponent got booked for the challenge.

So when Sheehan or CMG get crocked, they still have to go off after treatment - as nobody gets booked for fouling them.  If we commit a foul, the player can have 5 minutes treatment to waste time, and stays on because our player will get a routine yellow.

Laughable last night when Dalby got booked for kicking a ball limply out of play just through frustration at himself for not keeping it in, yet in the 1st 5 minutes when one of our's was dragged back on halfway line, no booking.  An easy obvious yellow for the ref, but it was against us so its fine.

There’s a reason we’re in double figures for games won in injury time this season and it’s because when we’re chasing the game or desperate for a winner,  SS has gambled and thrown on attackers for defenders and so far it’s generally worked in our favour. When he chucked on two wingers and a second striker against Burton we nearly conceded but with bodies piling forward, they cracked thanks to a goalie who pushed the ball out to Dalby. It’s reckless and I’m not sure we’d get away with it against better opponents, but personally I like the late cavalry charge.

good point - it'll be dull as fuck when we start winning 4-0 every week 😁

Their (arguably surprisingly) positive approach maybe plays into the comments from Bowyer about hoping to get our crowd to turn. They pressed high and held a higher line presumably in the hope of bagging the first goal and seeing what happened. A couple of moments where, with a bit more composure, it might have happened.

After they equalised there was also a 5 - 10 minute spell where they looked like they fancied it. I thought they were alright overall, better than some sides seen this season.

Tell you what, had our goalkeeper made two mistakes that led to two tap ins like theirs did last night I'd have been raging

If our GK had made 4 saves from 4 shots (Dempsey x 2 and the two you mention), we'd be buzzing 😀

It feels like deja vu where the new keeper has bugger all to do but whenever the opposition have a shot on target its a goal.  Folk took this is a criticism of TSL when I mentioned it so this is not a criticism, its a quirk and a coincidence but means we can't judge him after 4 games.  Long may it continue that we aren't having shots on target against us because currently a draw is the worst we can get even when not playing well.

McAtee did not stop trying all night two assists in two games now at least if he’s going he’s playing for the shirt until he does.  As for Morley the guy doesn’t want to be here and it showed his performance was awful summed up by taking ages to come over for that corner get him gone

McAtee didn't assist v Orient, it was EE that passed to Gale

First few months of the season… playing well and not winning

last couple of months… playing poorly but finding ways to win.

it’s not ideal and you want a mix of both but I know which one I’d prefer at this stage of the season

Have a look at the donkey lashers and Wigan forums. Whilst it’s absolutely joyful, gives you a bit of perspective on our situation

We won when we played well (at home) and didn't win when we didn't play well, except Reading at home, from what I was watching (not every single game admittedly).

Playing well, enjoying the games and being enhused pre-Christmas (at home mainly) was better than not really enjoying the games and winning, although we did play well at Wigan no complaints.

If we keep winning great, no complaints even if its a bit lucky, but its not like we've only just started to get results.

You just feel that if we move the ball quicker from the back it moves everyone quicker. It seems at the moment that Toal and Johnston receive the ball then stop and decide what to do with it rather than know what they’re going to do before they receive it. Even worse, they seem to think they need to pass it across to each other which gets us nowhere as the opposition just close down our options. Surely that’s a basic fix and something SS should be seeing and sorting?
