Lt. Aldo Raine Posted March 31 Posted March 31 It shows how impossible it is that a club with an average attendance of 20,000 in the third tier is losing £13M per year Quote
Popular Post gonzo Posted March 31 Popular Post Posted March 31 Wanderers spent close to £3.75m on players including John McAtee, Szabi Schon, Joel Randall, Jordi Osei-Tutu and Klaidi Lolos Absolutely fucking criminal those signings. Up there with the abyss of Coyle/Freedman era on throwing money down the drain. Terrible recruitment. Good job weve got good investors. Those kind of signings can bankrupt a club. Quote

I'll wager that over £3m of that went on the first three in the list. Dreadful business. Quote

Popular Post deeane Koontz Posted March 31 Popular Post Posted March 31 Signing wafer thin midget Joel Randall for that amount and at the time we did in Evatt"s death throes will always be a war crime. Quote

Zog1 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 This is why I've been so mad with the happy clappers over the years, giving Evatt year after year, accepting our mediocrity. These same people have been saying we need to give SS 4 transfer windows, and oh we'll just do it next year, and oh i quite like it in league one. You have your fun and games while we stay here year after year and eventually we're in admin again because FV have given us up as a lost cause. Quote

Zog1 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Having an IQ higher than the temperature of tepid water helps. Just because you're ignorant don't assume everyone else is. Do you think losing £13 million is good? If you do i've some rain to sell you. Quote
Cheese Posted March 31 Posted March 31 It's a fucking mad business is football. There's a MASSIVE Golden Goose sat there for anyone capable of reaching it, but it costs tens of millions to grab it (unless you are the luckiest cunts in the world). We really need to go up this season or next, and get one step closer to that goose. We have everything in place for top half-Championship, with the odd foray into the Premier League (which is our natural level IMO). All the off the pitch stuff is superb, but our downfall is player recruitment. And that's all that matters at this moment in time. Even Sharon isn't nice enough to suck up these types of losses for the next few years. Quote

It's not coming out of our pockets as fans, and I'm sure the investors will reap the rewards if we ever do get promoted. Quote

Sounds mad, but we have really suffered from not signing someone to replace Santos. Or even MJ Williams. Quote

Whitestar Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Agree about the big drop off in support, surprised it lasted so well after last season's surrender and a repeat of that again this season (early signs are there) Will finish a couple of thousand off. Quote

You think it's easy running a club our size on the pittance of league 1 football? You think our losses are purely down to keeping Evatt 3 months too long? Quote
