At the time I remember thinking I can't do anything to help but the least I can do is buy the record to show a bit of solidarity. In those days that song wasn't purely sung by Liverpool fans, nearly everyone sang it occasionally, so it was very appropriate. Not so today, it can only be associated with Liverpool (or Celtic) now and nobody else would sing it. But I'd forgotten how much its now part of Bradford's history (tragically) and rightly so. Quote

Probably another player we should have shifted on at the height of his powers (see also Morley, Dempsey, Santos, Charles) For a player that's scared of the ball, he's better at controlling it, passing it and running with it than Forino (and I'm a Forino fan as he's the only one that wins all the headers). But comparing the two, Toal will come out of defence, maybe beat a man and pass intelligently. Forino will get rid at the first opportunity. Toal's goal at Shrewsbury last year, running forward and burying it in the bottom corner from 20 yards, not many CBs can do that, certainly none of our's of the IE/SS era. I don't recognise the player that's being described. Quote

Not sure if we did v Liverpool in 1995! Quote

Eddie Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago The bit I’ve never understood about Toal is why nobody in our fitness team has got hold of him and put him on the Thomason bulking programme of a couple of summers ago. He’s tall enough to be a ‘big’ centre back, but he’s bullied as easily (possibly more so than) GJ who gives up 3-4 inches on him. He’s always looked slight and I’m not saying it would suddenly make him the perfect centre back - it wouldn’t solve the panicky tendency - but it would help him a lot in this league if he was more imposing and stronger. Yes Burstow may be a touch behind the other three but he is no slouch The other 3 are rapid, just not sure Burstow for Dalby makes any difference to the overall pace stats as both are slow. And that's not an issue, their game isn't pace, it's being in the right position for headers, chances in the box etc and tussling with centre backs. Quote
deeane Koontz Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Not arsed about defenders being shite on the ball if they know their limitations. It's when defenders are habitually failing to do the basics in defending that's more of a concern. Quote
