Zico Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Vaughn and Wilson back to being funny then Homo?? I had mixed feelings about this one....  Wilson has always been funny for me whatever he is in  Vaughn has done nowt since swingers expect put on weight  watched Gangster Squad t'other night - just an action flick as opposed to owt gritty like the untouchables, but worth a watch all the same Quote
Maggie Tate Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Mel gibsons finest work.. Â ...which is a bit like saying what a great game of rugby union Quote
Zico Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Just watched Apocalypto. Why oh why have I never watched this before. Fucking brilliant!!! Â i recall I was pleasently surprised, was expecting some dances with wolves epic but was a decent action movie as it turns out Quote
DazBob Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 i recall I was pleasently surprised, was expecting some dances with wolves epic but was a decent action movie as it turns out  Me too. Actually had it on DVD for a couple of years but never really fancied it. It was on recently though so I taped it ... and as there was fuck all on last night thought I'd give it a go.  What really struck me was the brutality of all the shit that went on at their pyramids. You see them now and they look beautiful and serene ... but back in the day, as the film shows, there was a lot of fucked up shit going on in, on and around them.  Gonna watch it again very soon.  The scene with the jaguar on that blokes face was ace. Rewound and watched it a couple of times. Con Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Watched a couple of new ones yesterday, 321 Frankie go boom, Comedy with Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman from SoA, Chris O Dowd and that bird. Quite funny. Â Wrong, about a bloke who has lost his dog. Wierdest film ive seen in a while, but both worth a watch if youve nowt better to do Quote
DazBob Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Watched Oblivion last night. Â Could've/should've been very good ... but was only average. 5.5/10 Quote
Kane57 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Watched 'Olympus Has Fallen' about an attack on the White House - was rubbish. Â Also watched 'Kill List' about a hitman which was OK until the ending went all strange and witchy. Quote
frank_spencer Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Pacific Rim   What's that about? giant monsters attack, humans build giant robots to fight em. Guillermo Del Toro's homage to classic Japanese monster films.  it's supposed to be a belter. not seen it yet. Quote
Pablo Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Watched 'Remember The Titans' again the other day, what a belting film that is. Quote

Not in Crawley Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Watched the Diving Bell and the Butterfly last night - that's a cracker, if you haven't seen go and watch immediately. Quote
DazBob Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Watched Kill List last night.  Plenty of ultra violence and was good, if a bit 'arty', up until the ending which made no sense whatsoever, I mean literally no sense at all. Spoiled it for me really. I don't want to sit there rubbing my chin musing what I think the ending meant ... because the director chose to leave it open to my own interpretation.  I want him to fucking tell me what the ending was supposed to mean. Quote
Sweep Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Watched Kill List last night. Â Â Strangely, I also watched it last night as well. Â I'm still confused by what went on Quote
Maggie Tate Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I still don't know if Kill List is shit or good. The ending is definitely questionable. It also contains the only bit of cinema violence I've had to turn away from and I'm well hard, me. some of the scenes are too long, like when they all sit down and have their tea.  Naked is a fucked up British film about northerners in London from about 1993 starring David Thewlis as a complete fucking hatstand.
