I can just remember those two bridges crossing Manny Road but I think they were gone by the 80s.

can't beat a Richard Dunne own goal

but

I have zero recollection of that game - 4pm Sunday KO as well

recall the Everton defeat and Hull win either side of it though

One of very few home games (in fact I can’t think of any others) where I could have made it but chose to watch in the pub instead.

Can only think it was a ticket price thing as I didn’t have a season ticket during that spell.

because it was under Megson?

whilst racking my brains on this game, I found the BBC match report

Can’t rule it out. Quick Google suggests it was £27 in NSL which equates to £44 these days so probably figured the ticket money was better spent on 10 pints.

The Big match on ITV4 this weekend was our game away at Chelsea in 1975.  What a shithole Stamford Bridge was in those days, shocking pitch too.  Surprisingly some awful bits of play by the two Peters, Reid and Thompson but what a player Alan Waldron looked like.

Alan Waldron was a great prospect. He never really got over his broken leg v Blackpool. Him & Reid was going to be a great combination.
