Lostock arms was alright, I mean it was a bit of a dive but it was the first place where we found out they didn’t ask for I.D It used to be alreet, a rival to The Tavern for Sunday nights out. Is it still just a demolition site? I thought they'd knock up another block of flats for thieves and Slovakian prostitutes to live in. They had a council notice up years ago that someone had applied to do something with it, but nothing since

I worked in Lostock for a time, it's alreet but nowt to write home about. That abomination flat block near the train station - full of scrubbers ready to do home invasions on richer locals, and is that former pub still a bombsite? There's hardly any green spaces apart from a crematorium. Ney shops either. Spot on

Missus went out to her mates and I had to drive and collect her later on. Terrifying journey it was. Car used all 3 lanes of the motorway. 70/80mph winds insanely bad notwithstanding you’re not allowed to travel in one of course

Someone cleared that hill on the left going up to RBH up Minerva Road it's been up for sale for a cul-de-sac with planning for a million or so quid. No takers so far. We have stone walls in my manor. That said the six chimney stacks are a cause for concern. I'd love to get rid of some of the wooden fences, but have you seen how much it costs to dry stone wall round nearly 7 acres of land, it's fucking fortune

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 17, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted February 17, 2022 Been out with the hounds on the fields. Absolutely lovely out, some blue sky, cool but barely a breath of wind. Improved a lot since the early afternoon. Talk about calm before the storm! jmjhb
Looking at the charts I think we're missing the worse of it in Bolton, expecting it to be similar to what it was yesterday. Down south though, a totally different story

gonzo
What a bizarrely sound day. Wind was tasty this morning but spent all last night thinking it'd be a disastrous day. Like TM says it turned out like a spring day. The forecast for here changes by the minute, reckon you lot in land will be fine. Still says 60mph here but not conviced it will be as strong this far north.
