boltonbhoy Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Hi everyone, I don't usually post on here although I've been a member for a while. I'm Ashey's step-dad, well not married to his mum but been together for a few years ! As a lot of you probably know he's off to Afghanstan on Sunday morning, travelling down from Catterick on Saturday night to Brize Norton and on from there. We took him back up yesterday and it was a bit emotional to say the least. Just thought I'd let you all know and if it's ok, I could maybe update you all on how he's doing as we hope he'll be able to phone us pretty regularily, obviously he'll have time some time to get online but don't know how often that will be. His mum is pretty upset to say the least and there will be shoe boxes getting sent every week to him and his mates. She works in a school and all the kids will be sending stuff via him for his whole Company. If anyone would like to send anything I could pass on his address via PM or I'm sure Ryan may have his address as well, obviously his mum and me ( well his mum) won't be wanting to send Porn etc but maybe some of you could....... As an aside I thought you might like to know of gesture that Tony McCrory did for us ( the fat kitman ). Ashey's mum was trying to get a Bolton shirt without the logo as she was a bit dubious about having that on a kit whilst in Helmand, she contacted adidas but no good on that, we got in contact with Tony via email and he kindly provided one for Anthony, at no cost to take with him.You might see it on Soccer AM if he sends a photo back. Tony also has arranged if wanted by Ashey for him to go to Euxton for breakfast and to watch training when he's back on R&R in January. I know that it maybe doesn't sound much and he isn't actually paying for it but we thought it was a nice gesture of him to do it. As an aside he also spoke to Garty and he's quite willing for the Duke of Lancasters to possibly have a march past at a game if they're back in time for the end of the season. There are a few lads from around Bolton in Lancs 1 and they should be back hopefully. Anyway just thought I'd share that as I know they're getting a bit of stick from everyone at the minute. As for my own personal opinion I still think it's time for a change. Coyle Out !! Quote

Spider Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Ashey -- wear an owen coyle mask whilst on patrol....the taliban will run like fuck ...and if you give them Owen Coyle-esque instructions, they'll be so confused about which direction they should be running in, it'll be like shooting fish in a barrel.
