Andydee Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Actually several with personality this year. Wiggins got my vote but I'd have liked to give Ennis one as well. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Ennis for me for the number of disciplines she had to be the best at. And yes I would too Quote

DazBob Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Murray for me. Wiggins would've got it, but then he proved himself not to be 'all that' by being hit by a van coming out of a petrol station. Amateur. Quote

Traf Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Having assessed each contenders different sporting merits and achievments, I come to the conclusion that both garrp and CWP are right. Quote

MalcolmW Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Ennis for me for the number of disciplines she had to be the best at. I know what you mean, but her ranking positions in UK in the separate disciplines this year are: 100mH - 1; HJ - 1; 200m - 2; LJ - 5; SP - 8; JT - 44; 800m - 53. In world terms, she dominated the heptathlon this year but was not in the top 25 in any individual discipline. Quote

And you point is what? - she's supposed to be good enough at all the events to compete in the Heptathlon, which she does. Who cares how she fairs in the individual disciplines against out and out specialists Quote
