MickyD Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Gevrey Chambertain... I guess you've just got to hope it was the cheap shit @ £21.00 per bottle. In fact, just tell yourself that. And then ask the former owner of the Captain Morgan if he/she knew what it was and did they enjoy it. If they knew what they were getting and giving you a £14 bottle of rum for, wipe your dick around the rim of his/her tea cup. Quote
MancWanderer Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Youngest bought me a bottle of 19 crimes but been too ill to even look at it What’s the story with it? I know it’s on this thread somewhere far back but can’t be arsed scrolling back. Are they all the same wine with a different label or are there different wines? Quick google and I got bored by adverts Quote
Guest Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 The expensive specials for Christmas continues with a top bottle of Vigneti Repetto Quote
MickyD Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Sarsons maltivingeri. Even the advice about the egg cup of water wouldn't help. Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 If the only thing you could drink all week was one bottle of red and you could spend up to £15 on it what would you go for? Quote

Normally £10, although on offer at the moment at £8 a bottle. Quote
MancWanderer Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Carmanere just edges out Malbec for me Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Ended up with summat that says it's a Trivento Private Reserve 2018 Malbec, should have been 10 but was on offer on 8. Not drunk much red over my lifetime but can report it tastes nice and you seem to drink it more slowly than a white. Quote

Having done a number of English/Welsh vineyards, really developed an appreciation of the top quality wine being produced. Fruity, crisp, dry etc. Quote
Winchester White Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Sometimes I am just not in the mood for red and will go for a white. Problem is, as it isn't something to savour like a good red, it is gone in no time. Then I open another and I am pissed before I know it. Quote
Smiley Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 The Butterfly Effect, 2018 Shiraz from South Australia. Delicious. Quote

Spider Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I don’t drink white, but a friend who goes through oceans of it and knows his stuff tells me that there are some English white wines good enough to rival anything around the world. Climate change has some benefits. Quote
