radcliffe white Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Charlton away say no more the man was pure class. Quote
smeghead83 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Also the Ipswich home relegation decider. Bobic got the hattrick but Djorkaeff was on fire that day. Quote
DaveTheRave Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 The best player I've ever seen play for us. Quote
gonzo Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Best ever for me too. The complete player. Everton away sticks out for me. Quote
Elephant Stone Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 The best player I've ever seen play for us. Agreed. I've been lucky enough to grow up in an era where we've seen some greats - He was always a class above though Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Hope he's back for Kevin Davies testimonial, love to see that team back together to milk our applause and thanks. Quote

Garrp Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 plenty have Okocha over Djorkaeff but for me Djorkaeff was number 1. Every single thing about the man not one negative whatsoever I can think of to be fair, same with Jay Jay Quote
iggy Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Always remember his goal at Blackburn just before half time. I think we where 3-1 down. What a finish! Quote
Garrp Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Always remember his goal at Blackburn just before half time. I think we where 3-1 down. What a finish! aye and not even a flinch of arrogance to show how good it was not like Henry or Cantana did when they scored a cracker, stood there, slight nod and a look around for adulation just nothing from Youri like it was something he's done a million times before in his back garden in his sandals fuck me, i loved him Quote
Sweep Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I think Djorkaeff will always be my favourite, what a class act that guy was...as was Jay Jay as well Quote
DazBob Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I'd be most grateful if anyone can find the Djorkaeff interview on Sky after we beat Spurs 1-0 (Okocha penalty) at home. When asked by the reporter, bearing in mind some of the huge clubs he's played for and huge games he's played, how much the win meant to him. He just pointed at the huge grin on his face and said "this much". Still makes me feel emotional that does. I just remember thinking, an actual, true, bona fide great of the game and he fucking loves my club. What a guy! Quote
L/H White Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 Does anyone have a Youri top they wanna offload? Quote
scallywell Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 All our superstars we had where all grafters aswell not like the shower of shite Dougie has just fucked off. Oh and how good was Bruno n'gotty? Up there with jj and youri fer me Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Still hard to believe how lucky we were as fans, if someone had told me in the bleak mid 80s what we would be watching 20yrs later I would have had them certified. Quote
frank_spencer Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 plenty have Okocha over Djorkaeff but for me Djorkaeff was number 1. Every single thing about the man not one negative whatsoever I can think of to be fair, same with Jay Jay Youri was the better player, jayjay was more exciting and capable of the sublime. Quote
Eddie Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I refuse to choose between Youri or Jay Jay. It's not possible, and if I did say one of them I'd immediately think of loads of reasons I should have said the other. Quote
Naytch Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I love Youri! Still got his name on the back of my BWFC shirt when he had left the club. Top man! Quote
CAPSLOCKCOLIN Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Youri was our first 'galactico'. The first absolutely major name that put us on the map. You really had to sit up and think "Is that really world cup winner Youri Djorkaeff alongside Anthony Barness?". For that reason alone, he'll perhaps be held in the highest esteem for me. His name tempted the likes of Okocha and Hierro to join, and in the long term built our foundation to progress as a Premier League club. The only thing that taints Youri's career for me was him having a spell at Blackburn afterwards. An absolute class act nonetheless. Quote
Traf Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 The only thing that taints Youri's career for me was him having a spell at Blackburn afterwards. I've chosen to forget that happened. Quote
