Spider Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 20 to 50 blokes(?) full of ale shouting randomly at a building won't work.!!!!!!! Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I think most fans are reluctant to turn the club into a Blackburn-like circus under Kean, there is however a breaking point for everyone & if we lose the next two games I can only see a Megsonesque scenario happening. The pitch invaders were the 1st crack in the dam for Freedman. Quote
DaveTheRave Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 If the 2 clowns in question had made some sort of protest, like throwing their season tickets in DF's direction it would have been understandable but not defensive able. But to come on running/dancing about with the corner flag was just stupidity. One of them did throw his season ticket at Freedman. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Indeed However, they certainly galvanised the Freedman out etc chants Which in turn may have contributed to the lot outside the West Stand after the game Which may make someone organise a formal protest ala Traf's post Which would make them take some notice. It won't completely make their decision for them, but as businessmen it has to influence them From acorns and all that Yeah, perhaps agree with that. But I imagine Eddie Davies is from the old school and would just view pitch invaders as idiots. Megson survived a fair while despite a torrent of hate. Freedman will if the club think there's a chance things will change - and there's no long term option available right now. Personally I think they'll wait a couple more weeks. But then again, I expected us to get at least a point yesterday, so what do I know? Quote
Ratwhite Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Given the state of the team/results/manager, I'm surprised that it isn't nastier. More fans just seem to be melting away. Exactly my point. There's no fight left in most folk. It's a grim acceptance that we're destine to be shit or the near future Quote
Ani Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 If yesterday does not convince them to do something then we are fucked. The players were woeful, the tactics woeful, the atmosphere was horrible. As a businessman Eddie must have had to in the past get rid of people who could not do their jobs. Quote

I don't think they will get rid tbh I don't know what but there is something being planned and it's not going to be pretty Quote
Rembrandt Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I recognised the growing "horrible" atmosphere and the "we're destine to be shit for the near future" and the "players were woeful, the tactics woeful" a a while back, and that's why I've not been since the Middlesbrough game despite my season ticket. I said a year ago that if things didn't improve I'd throw my season ticket to the back of the drawer and leave it there. Well that time eventually arrived the middle of last month. I love the club, I support the club and have done for 65 years; I've seen us be sh*t before, relegated several times, it's nothing new but it's still painful; and owners, chairmen, managers, players are all temporary and can be good or bad for the club. I reserve the right to act accordingly. One more thing. This talk of ED being a (successful) businessman and therefore knows what he's doing with BWFC sticks up my nose. He is/was successful with his businesses away from football, but taking the club into £160m debt and also leading us into a position where we seem to be more afraid of FFP than any other similar club does not strike me as success in this particular business. Who knows what his business strategy is across his whole range of businesses though - BWFC is simply a small part of that. As others have asked before. is there a bigger picture we don't know about. In any case ED/PG brought BWFC to this point, and they are still in charge. It's time to pray, or cross your fingers, or wear your lucky underpants ............ whatever your beliefs happen to be. Some of you must remember us playing League games against Darlington and Scarborough. As it happens, I've seen both those clubs (or rather their successor clubs) in the FA Cup qualifying rounds in the last 2-3 weeks. Both clubs are in the Northern Premier League 1-North. Makes you think, even if no club our size has gone that way (yet). Quote
no balls Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I don't think they will get rid tbh I don't know what but there is something being planned and it's not going to be pretty Is this by people who go to the match or folk who just want to kick off? Quote

Guest Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The FFP line is just a cover up, a non-issue. The worst sanction for us would be a transfer ban, but only if we lost more than £3m and ED didn't inject equity or lost over £8m, if and until we could prove that we are viable. Or if we were to be promoted, which seems unlikely. So, horseshit. Quote

He's got to go for the good of those who can't be arsed with those folk like that near them of a weekend. Quote

Everyone moaned that he wasn't throwing enough money around in the Prem, a good number moan that he has all this debt to deal with. He sanctioned more than was wise in hindsight, perhaps because football is more emotive than kettles. Now (thankfully) he is dealing with it. Or we would be in a footballing black hole. Quote

smeghead83 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 A number on here giving stick to the pitxh invaders. What I was more dissapointed with was a nunber of fans (scoreboard corner) singing 'our support is fucking shit' on a few occasions. For me that makes us look tinpot. Where/when will it all end? Carlos Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 We look like shit Geordies. Getting yourself banned for life just shows you don't give a fuck. Quote

smeghead83 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Blackpool recently showed their displeasure with the ownership by chucking tennis balls on the pitch. We've gotta watch out for kettles being lobbed on, haha. Quote
davidjack Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Traf, I was quite sober, sadly...as were the people stood around me. And if there were 20 of us we're the loudest 20 people I've ever come across. As someone said, from small acorns. But seriously, put me down for your properly organised demo next week. Quote
only1swanny Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 transfer embargo.. not far off our current state anyway.. and we can demonstrate a plan to balance the books.. that's what we're doing now... what annoys me is that we cant "afford" to buy a player and one in one out etc.. but we can afford loan signee's wages... only1swanny Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 is it more to do with the board not trusting df's ability to sign quality players ? Quote
