There's no doubt that'll be a winter Tuesday night Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Derby away in 85-86 was a pivotal game for me, I'd got my first car and that was the first away I drove to. Asa Hartford scored a cracking equaliser, lost 2-1. Loads of ticker tape in away end saying "BWFC Wembley 86" (coz we'd got to quarter final of Freight Rover!). It was socially acceptable to have 3 or so pints and drive in those days, so I had a great day in my Vauxhall Chevette, I was hooked on the away day. Stopped at various pubs from south of Stockport, over the Woodhead etc, after that I drove to loads of games that way at the likes of Mansfield, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Rotherham. Always took a great following. Went to FA Cup game, crap view but great atmosphere, those days were as good as any in my lifetime. Quote

I went Derby away in the 5th round of the cup and stood on that crap terrace on the pop end and couldn't see fuck all, i went the following season in a league game and went behind the goal on the Derby end, not getting fucked over twice. Marc505 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Really good interview with Stuart Holden on the LOV podcast. They just let him talk and it's interesting, funny, sad and a bit infuriating regarding the aftermath of his injury. Well worth a listen, brought back some memories of great times. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Pretty sure he blinked three times in succession. Send in the SAS to free him from his captors. Quote

Marc505 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) Well I suppose, if we must. Off top of my head I'm struggling to think of 10 decent games, anyone else? England v Scotland, Holland, Germany then v Spain for drama. There was a 3-3 Russia v Czech, Italy v Germany. France v Spain. And then... Edited March 27, 2020 by Marc505 Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I went to 2 games at Old Trafford and 1 at Anfield, Villa, Leeds, Hillsborough and Wembley (v Scotland). Had tickets for final and sold them. So it will bring back a lot of memories of a great tournament. First time I saw Djorkaeff play too. Quote
Kane57 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Sorting the loft out this morning and came across my forgotten-about BWFC Season Review DVDs from 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, so that's this afternoon sorted. Quote

Marc505 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Got opening game of K-League on BBC app, crowd songs being played on the loudspeakers! It's already showing that it'll be impossible to enforce the no talking or shouting on the pitch rule. Quote
