Robson was in the hotel early 2000 after a night game (doing some pundit work)

pissed as a fart and not long after he banged Clare Tomlinson, he got some banter to say the least

I’ve been over this

A large Mancunian family contingent (Flixton) made me attend as a young boy.

I chose to follow my home town team at great annoyance to the related reds.

I chose division 4. John Thomas. 4,000 fans, the stench.

Never a single regret. Watched their club turn into a yank franchise as they sat next to cockneys, Japs and Paddies, whilst me and my mates went to places like Exeter and Chesterfield on a Tuesday night.

I made the right choice.

You lot have had it easy

Observations from opening minutes of ITV's Euro 96 coverage...

John Barnes mad suit

Wembley's new nets

Decent opening ceremony in that it was over in seconds

Southgate saying he'll look back on all this in July at how far he's come.

But the observations weren't in that order, were they?

Venables out!

Strange how things turn.  I watched that Switzerland game the other day and we were awful.  Swiss were truly terrible and we still didnt stamp our authority on the game other than a good goal.  Keegan kept saying McManaman had a blinder and he looked weak and slow to me, although I always thought he was overrated.  I went to the Scotland game and I absolutely loved the occasion but we could have easily lost or drawn and been staring down the barrel of elimination.  People look back on Euro 96 as if we were great, I'm sure they only remember the Holland game and Pearce pen v Spain.  It was hard going at times.

Surprised me how little time there was between the penalty being given and taken, no messing about at all.

I thought that too. Same with the corner after it. Wasn't sure if any delay was edited out for the itv replay?

I chuckled at Big Ron saying Gazza had a shit game about a minute before his goal.
