little whitt Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Looks like a common sense victory and a reward for good governance. Perhaps the country is growing up. And some kind of massive England v Scotland face off coming up TGIF THIS Quote
no balls Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 That 20 year old girl is in ffs I wonder if she will fuck off the last year of her degree? She can help build the wall they want, she doesn't need a degree to do that, the idiotic Smirnoff ice drinking scutter. Quote
MalcolmW Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 That 20 year old girl is in ffs I wonder if she will fuck off the last year of her degree? That would be an easy decision if she was an English student, where graduates get a bill. But Scots in Scotland get it scot free. Quote

bgoefc Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 (edited) Jack Straws drug dealing scum son stuffed in Rossendale, in fairness though Jake Berry is a good MP. It's a blue day Aye. didn't vote for him, but hats off, he is the only mp we have ever had who has been in touch regularly by mail email etc over the last 5 years telling us what he is up to. Sent us two letters congratulating us on our annual money raising efforts in the great north run for the local ms society. ukip got 14% here all from labour and the liberals, much the same picture in the rest of england. Boby Brno Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 With a decent leader and someone who actually knew something about economics, Labour should and would have done much better. Ed Balls was a massive liability and it still amazes me that both the party hierarchy and the Labour voters (not his constituents) couldn't see through him. Quote
jturner Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I couldn't bring myself to vote for the unelectable gawp Milliband and didn't vote for the first time ever in any general or local election. It was like being asked to vote for a Bolton manager and only having the choice of Megson. Quote
bgoefc Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 With a decent leader and someone who actually knew something about economics, Labour should and would have done much better. Its becoming clear that labour have disenfranchised their core vote who have either gone to ukip or not bothered voting. perhaps they need to decide who they want represent? Quote
overseas Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 UKIP got more votes than the SNP did, and had 78 second places. they only got 1 seat! Quote

Traf Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Lib Dem supporters deserted their party, as a vbote for the LD was really a Tory vote anyway, so they voted Tory to keep Labour out. Labour also lost a load of its traditional working-class support to UKIP and their one racist policy. Your average White Van Man supports UKIP's immigration policy, but doesn't want a Tory government, but wasn't bright enough to see that voting for one has led to another. Quote

I'm not sure the UKIP switch is that significant to the result. The LD vote collapse has ultimately been terrible for Labour because they have gone to the Tories I presume because of the fear of SNP influence that was peddled by the right wing media. In the final analysis I don't think Labour differentiated themselves from the Conservatives enough and hence had a mixed message depending upon whether they were fighting in Scotland or England and it just confused people and helped the Tory narrative of fear and chaos prevail. The SNP had the strongest anti-austerity anti-right message and did very well on it. Labour are caught between a rock and a hard place now. Lurch back to the centre right and they probably will never win a seat in Scotland again. Go left and they may re-claim their heartland but end up back where they were under Kinnock. Quote

Like it or not, white van man is todays guy on the factory floor, mine or shipyard worker of yesterday. Perhaps if labour needs to start listening to them instead of treating them as bigots? Quote
