RoadRunnerFan Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Been down today. It's rammed as usual. Had an almost famous burger, was okay. Had a pint in the Cave, nice little spot. Mrs got two cocktails for a tenner. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Bought a Thai curry pie last year. I was absolutely ghastly. Utter wank and cost a relative fortune. Artisan my arse. Quote
Marc505 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Cheese and Jalapeño pasties anyone? Loved them and the steak ones, sampled at the pasty and ale tasting event and bought more later Quote

frank_spencer Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Spent one friday afternoon in work almost blind after trying some chili jam from a stall on the food market. Always used to be a Caribbean stall selling the tastiest jerk chicken patties I've had since I left Cov and the Jamaican cafe round the corner from my flat. Still up in jockland so have to miss this year's. Quote

MickyD Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Turning the old car park into space for small independent businesses Do you mean a bit like the Market Hall was? Quote
Whites man Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 The town centre seems to be on the way back up with significant sums of private investment being made. I hope we can get something like North Parade in Bradford going, turning a run down street into a vibrant area with some great bars. However I just think that there's not enough people to spend the money needed, probably the best outcome I can see is the Vaults to get a few more bars. Quote
Casino Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Meldrew has waited til now to tell me they had Jaipur on tap Quote
Bigtoe Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Haha Had a pint of Jaipur there this afternoon watching a couple of groups. Superb drop. Finished with a visit to Alain at Nkono for Jerk chicken, Jollof rice and plantain and ice cream from the milkmaids (2 good looking bolton lasses making good ice cream) Quote
