snowball
Might not be what people want to hear, but it's true. Nobody complained when we had Anelka, Campo, Heirro, Okocha, Cahill, Diouf, Djorkaeff, European Football, top 8 finishes in the Premier League... It's only in hindsight that anyone can point out the long-term incompetence of the people running the show. Show me a single fan who worried about the future when we were flying high... The same people saying "Told you they were fucking us!" now are the same people who were moaning when we weren't spending big money on players over the last few transfer windows. NOBODY is coming out of this looking clever. Nobody. Nobody but a clever clogs like you Cheese eh? Supporters support, they don't get paid massive amounts to make the financial decisions. We are talking after relegation here. That's when the financial incompetence has really hurt us and Owen Coyle started dishing out crazy contracts to shite players, but no one thought to reign him in. It's eye watering what the likes of Mears, Sordell, Andrews, N'Gog, Wilde, etc were taking out of the club in wages and I think had people known at the time we might have been worried. I'm not saying anyone is bent or fucking us over but this situation we are in is an indictment of those trusted with running the club whichever way you look at it. Blaming the supporters just makes a few smug people on here feel superior.

gonzo
Blaming folk for not complaining when we were signing youri and co is a bit like blaming folk for taking mortgages and loans out when labour were spending beyond their means at around about the same time. It wasn't our job to act with caution and gamble responsibly. Edited December 11, 2015 by gonzo

It wasn't our job to act with caution and gamble responsibly. Plus we had no choice in the matter anyway! It wasn't a democracy with people standing on a "let's take a punt" ticket. Even if you were financially astute enough to realise there was trouble brewing, there was cock all you could do about it save walk away. paulhanley
If there was ever a time for the whole town to turn out for a home match it is Fulham on December 19. Put some temporary cashflow back in to the club and show that as a town we're serious about Bolton Wanderers. For the longer term, the only way we're going to sustain a good standard of football in the town is for the people of the town to turn out and watch through thick and thin, regardless of who the owners are and how much money they have. Same applies to any club in any town. In short, as Bolton people, we can have some influence over this horrendous situation both short and long term. .... preaching to the converted on here of course. Mounts Kipper
see Cardiff City #fillthemacron Exactly the town has lost the love for its club. The club/new owners has a lot of work to do to gain that love back but it's doable but could take a long time.

The losses didn't really start until we lost the quality older players and started dumbing down but still paying high wages after Sam and the likes of JJ and Youri left. Anyhow the accounts are hardly worth paper they are wrote on, thankfully that debt will be wiped off, now we have to say goodbye to the high earners and live within our meager means. Guest Blixa
Even that's proven not to be true. If they make all the tickets for the Fulham game £5 each, there still wouldn't be 14K on A number of fans lost the love when the move was made from Burnden to the now 'Macron'. But that has been masked for many years with the success we have had. When the bad times come, the idea of hiking up to the new ground is far less appealing than a quick walk to the town centre. Especially at night when the rain is lashing down. And we are regularly being beat and playing piss poor footie. Even a cheap ticket isn't going to entice the masses. We used to be a close-knit club because we were small time for so lomg, but when we became big time playing the Premier League rules, that slowly eroded. Will take a long time to bring that back. Moderators Casino Posted December 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2015 said it before, if we do get a buyer, pricing is going to increase it has to so the ones of us who arent finding reasons not to go will take the pain while the moaners stay away theyll then come back when the wheel turns, just like last time its why i have no time for the ones of my age who jumped out during the 80s then came crawling back when we did well
