I'd never even heard of The Detectorists until a couple of weeks ago on here.  Thoroughly enjoying it.  A nice feel good type comedy.  Thanks chaps.

Transfer deadline day documentary on sky is a decent watch to see what players and agents do.

Also the defeated on Netflix is worth a watch if in to your Cold War/Nazi hunting stuff.

one episode Documentary on Netflix

Worth a watch

Homeless guy turned hero goes viral becoming an internet sensation

He's got a dark back story and a very dark end story

Watched it last night. Enjoyed. Bizarre really. Typical America.

Just started watching The Rig last night  - 2 episodes in, I can't decide if it's OK or a massive pile of shit. After 2 hours, I'm still sort of waiting for something to actually happen

Need a gritty box set to get into. Not into zombies, dragons, or supernatural shite. Any suggestions?

Have you watched Your Honor?  Series 2 has just come out I think.

Also, same with Hunters on Amazon.

Tulsa King is decent, not exactly gritty, but a good, easy watch nonetheless.

All should be available on your dodgy stick.

Started watching that hickhicker with a hatchet thing after the crap that was Bank of Dave. That bloke irritated me to death and didn't even bother to get to the end.

Sounded like he liked the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Dude.

Fuck. Dude.

Bit tragic that. Obviously not a well lad.

aye, he got picked up by some old bloke in Times Square who took him back to his place in New Jersey - CCTV suggested he was perfectly happy to be in the company of the old guy before/after the first night he stayed and went back a 2nd night.  Self-defense went out the window as he absolutely battered him over and over:

McGillvary was arrested on murder charges on May 16, 2013, for the death of New Jersey attorney Joseph Galfy. McGillvary maintained he fought against Galfy in self-defense. According to McGillvary, he had been drugged and raped by Galfy after he offered McGillvary a place to stay for the night. McGillvary stated that the police claimed the sexual encounter was consensual and the murder premeditated; however, McGillvary said that after the viral video in California, he had no need to have sex with men like Galfy, whom McGillvary described as unattractive, stating "Do you know how many hot chicks—never mind. Even if I was gay, do you know how many hot guys wanted to fuck me after that shit in California? I'm not even being vain. It's just a fact, like—no offense, but he [Galfy] was not a looker".[8]

After the murder charges, the video views increased substantially broadening its viral reach.[9] Fans of the video, who considered McGillvary a hero for saving the woman, raised a legal fund.[10][11][12][13][14] McGillvary was imprisoned for over five years awaiting trial which began April 1, 2019.[15][16] McGillvary took the stand in his own defense and was combative during cross-examination; he had an outburst during his defense lawyer’s closing arguments nearly leading to his expulsion from the courtroom.[17] A jury found him guilty of first-degree murder and he was sentenced to 57 years in prison. He will serve 85 percent of that term (roughly 43.5 years, after accounting for 5 years of pre-trial confinement) before the possibility of parole, with the judge telling McGillvary, "when you become eligible for parole, you will still be younger than Mr. Galfy was when you murdered him." Galfy was 73 at the time of his death.[18][19][20] McGillvary appealed the conviction, alleging 15 instances of "misconduct, abuse of discretion, and ineffectiveness of defense counsel," but the murder conviction was upheld by the New Jersey Appellate Court in August 2021.[6][21]

That's where I was after two episodes and thought it could be OK. You won't be in any doubt by the end. Fanciful shite.

Just done the first three episodes. I’m guessing that the plot is as you suggest. Not sure how it will end although the agenda is fairly obvious. And understandable to be fair

Two episodes in on this one D. Excellent so far. A bit of a cross between Your Honor and The Wire.

Cheers mate.

By the crimes, Happy Valley is fucking good innit? They've not stopped talking down here about that scene with the two sisters in that cafe opposite the Market Hall.
