We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Saw something on Twitter linking us with Marcus Forss at Middlesbrough, can't see there being much in that though.

could be wrong but think they are just waiting for the nod from Celtic for Kenny

That lad, another of those with about 10 followers on X, reckoned Kenny was having a medical and Adahme was through the door.

See Adahme scored on his debut for Stevenage.

Not according to BBC website.

He wasn’t even in the 18.

There are loads of them on there calling themselves 'sports journalist' who've never left their bedroom except to go to the corner shop.

A goal by Dan Kemp midway through the second half followed by a debut strike from Gassan Ahadme gave Stevenage a 2-0 win at home to Northampton that sent them top of League One.

He is the G.Yahyai listed as a sub.

Ive just seen it on ITV4 EFL Highlights from Sunday. I can assure you he scored!

He wanted to play for a top of the league team rather than us!

He'll bag a few goals there as there's no pressure at all on him or Stevenage, theirs clearly a cycle with him... Been at three big clubs (Pompey/Ipswich/Charlton) done absolutely nothing yet has been alright at the small minnow clubs (Burton/Cambridge/Stevenage) where there's no fans to get on his back.

Maybe they just have more patience than our lot?

Yeah, mistake by the Beeb, they didn’t have him in their lineups at all but he is mentioned in the actual match report.

They have some guy called Yahyai.

Sickening.

Yes a poor deal but didn’t Franny’s injury jinx a big money move, to Wolves I think.

That was Peter Reid.

Not an injury. The deal was lined up - straight swap between Lee and Wharton.  Franny turned it down because he wanted to continue living and training in Bolton because of his business: FH Lee. Wolves said he had to move and train down there.

City then came in, shortly afterwards. We still bought Wharton but ended up paying slightly more than we got for Franny.

Frankly Worthy finished top scorer in the top league in a struggling team........ there endeth the argument 😀

Quite right Dr, my mistake thanks for correcting.

It's a shame that by the time we reached the premier league, SJM had peaked, as he wasn't at the standard needed then, though neither was much of the team.

A little unfair on SJM . he was played out wide right a lot when we bought Beardsley and was still the top scorer that season.

You're mixing seasons up

SJM was top scorer in our first PL season in 95/96 with 6

Beardsley joined in 97/98, when SJM left Bradford and Blake was top scorer with 12

Best will in the world, being top scorer is perhaps misleading as to the team's performance overall.

I can clearly remember him being beasted by Southgate and thinking it has just come too late.

Still a legend though.

After George Wood (that's another one) smashed Reid's knee & he was out for 8 months, he returned & got quickly up to speed. Not long later Richards took him out at the knee & another long lay off followed.

I was there at snowy Burnden on the day Wood clattered Reidy. I remember the second injury, but I couldn't have told you who it was who caused it.

Yes, Add 'em both to the list.
