It's time to move on, just put me on ignore as others have if you don't like me, that's what it is there for. I come in peace not for never ending arguments - haven't you realised yet that Masi has more or less admitted to deliberately winding me up to prolong his 'argument' with me that you seem to solely be blaming me for causing? Popular Post SalCity Biggie Posted Friday at 11:11 Popular Post Posted Friday at 11:11 I love this forum, everyone was on the same page for about an hour when we got promoted, no negativity, no arguments. Glad to see it's back to business as usual. Quote
Sluffy Posted Friday at 11:22 Posted Friday at 11:22 People just carrying grudges against me dating back years and years I regret to say. One day some of them might move on (but I'm not hopeful) Anyway back to football - According to Alan Nixon, via his Patreon, Bolton Wanderers have won the race to sign highly-rated Liverpool youngster Luca Stephenson. It has been reported by Nixon that the newly-promoted Trotters are set to fork out around £700,000 for the versatile defensive midfielder, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership. It had previously been suggested that Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers had been interested in the signing of Stephenson and so that would suggest it is a bit of a coup for Bolton. Nixon says that Stephenson, after that prolonged loan spell at Tannadice, is now keen on a permanent move, with Bolton swooping to provide that for the 22-year-old. Stephenson, once in the Sunderland academy before moving to Liverpool in 2018, has played in the EFL before, too, with a loan spell at Barrow a couple of seasons ago and he will provide competition for the likes of Josh Sheehan, Ethan Erhahon and Xavier Simons in the middle of the park, while also able to play at both centre-back and at right-back. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/bolton-set-to-sign-highly-rated-liverpool-man/ Quote

I honestly don't get it - why carry grudges against what someone may have said or done on a town based footy forum from years back - I've long since forgotten what ever I did to upset most of them, whatever it was being so trivial and meaningless - we aren't talking real life here, are we? Anyway I can't do anything about their hang-ups over me. And at least I'm helping Tomski get his full forty winks in now. So things aren't really that bad at all, are they. Chin, chin! Quote

I get that everyone is panicking for signings, but I don't see the need to downplay the abilities of the current squad. We're in a strong position with a good core and can add more quality in 6/7 more players over the summer. No worries That team only got 75 points (and that flattered us with a lot of late winners), god knows what the 75 would have been without ACD, he was massive. If we assume Lincoln and Cardiff have a better core to start with, and they are the minimum we need to compete with to have a chance, it shows the catching up we have to do. They were way ahead of us and we've lost our best player (I've no idea if they've lost anyone significant?). I'm not sure anyone's "panicking for signings", there's 3 months before the window closes, SS knows what he has to do. Quote

And anyway we know what we're like with injuries so I bet there's no game when more than 3 of them start. Quote

Wouldn’t be surprised if we brought in 4 or 5 defenders, this summer. Quote

I'd expect a new starting back 4 tbh Perhaps one of Toal and Forino keeps their spot. but Inwood and Temple are unlikely to be championship ready I like Conway as a player but he's lost at left back. and Taylor has a lot of work to do to get into the squad never mind 1st 11. Christie is definitely not championship level Quote
Wullie Posted Friday at 14:44 Posted Friday at 14:44 I know no one has signed as yet, however, it is great to see we are trying to do some business before the world cup starts, when transfer activity tends to slow down Quote
noxid Posted Friday at 14:48 Posted Friday at 14:48 Can't sign anyone until 15th June when the window opens. However not sure if this applies to loans? Quote

I think our defenders can hold their own compared to the defenders in the championship that seem to enjoy not marking up, and passing around amongst themselves at the back to create opportunities for strikers. But up front is a different matter, there's some serious quality and most worrying for us, pace. Forino can at least hold his own in the strength and height department, so 2 of out of 3 ain't bad. Maybe I need to get a life but I do watch a fair bit of the Scottish stuff, either on Sky or the Sportscene programme on iPlayer, seen a bit of him at Dundee Utd and looked pretty decent. Mainly as a right sided midfielder, 5 goals, 5 assists, strong lad, just short of 6ft. Quote

It was back when the No10 positon seemed to be a poison chalice with him and Dempsey both doing it a once or twice each, and it never really working. It was around November - December time, might have been that Bradford game the 0-0 one. It 100% happened i remember it, because everyone agreed at the time, it probably shouldn't happen again. Quote
