Farrelli Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/fr/MEMO_07_441 Here are some of the central policies which have always formed the basis of EU environmental practice from the early seventies. Polluter pays principle and best available techniques. The EU were driving these principles when we were known as the dirty man of Europe and all our rivers were polluted. Quote
Spider Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Just to recap Our rivers are full of shit but that’s ok because some rivers in the EU are as well? Weve left the EU. We stand alone. And our rivers, based on the available data, are teeming with sewage. The blame lies with the government who’ve had 12 years to not let that happen. How anyone can defend them on this is baffling. London Wanderer Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 It’s about sovereignty - doesn’t matter if the rivers and seas are full of shite as long as the flag shaggers can call it their own. Quote

Even the flag shaggers want clean water, if uk government of whatever colour fail to provide it then it will form part of the debate at the next election and folk can use that as part of their decision making process as to who they vote for. it is possible to have great water quality outside of the EU. Winchester White Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Lets say time shifted 30 years, Maggie would have been a massive player in the EU, probably end up being President with Britain front and centre 💣 😁 Quote

The question is whether Bojo wants to take over before an election which he might well lose (but he has a very good record in winning London elections twice against the odds). I doubt he would relish a Parliament as leader of the Opposition, however. So in the meantime he is lurking in the foreground. Quote
