Sorry pal but you have a short memory.

"No new taxes for working people".

Oh, hang on a minute.................

Not a good look. He's now realising how hard government is.

But at least hes going at it from a place of trying to make things better for all rather than feather the nests of vested interests.

Trying to work out if you are condoning more murder or simply referring to a Boris Brexit stunt?

If 'likes' is another one of your plentiful typos and should have been 'lies' then I know the answer.

I honestly cannot see how an third runway at Heathrow will help economic growth.

It is on the wrong side of London, should be on the east.

Heathrow is now a hub and passengers pass through changing flights... the only benefit will to from the Costa and Sockshop franchises in the transit lounges.

Expanding freight hubs like EMA might do the trick but carbon offsets will take their toll

More importantly, when? A decade away at least. Reeves will be hiding away well before then.

Shacked up with her austerity mentor, George Osbourne

Short term pain

Long term gain.

Just like Trump is doing now.

Heathrow needs a third runway. A bit shit for those who have to move or probably even worse under a new flight path.

Just saying it will take too long is silly imo.

They've been talking about it for as long as I can remember - it probably does, but even if they started building it tomorrow, it'll be pushing 15/20 year before it's complete, and it'll go wildly over budget. The UK just isn't very good, generally, at these major infrastructure things anymore (probably because we do things by the book.....and you can couple that with the fact that we're fucking lazy 😁)

Used to knock out runways in a few months during WW2!

easy then though, we had more land, and a Lancaster probably only needed around 1Km runway length, I'll bet these huge aircraft, like the A380, probably need 3 or 4 times that 😁

I'm sure I remember hearing that a plane takes off or lands every minute at LHR, which is just bonkers. I think if it's not the business airport in the world, it must be quite close (I'd guess Dubai or Istanbul is probably the busiest now)

I know, they spoke for a while about just building a new airport over the other side of London, I don't know why that has now been totally discounted (they probably found some newts or something)

Yeah, when all they needed was a couple of hangars and some lights. The runway isn't the time consuming bit. It's the surrounding infrastructure that goes with being one of the busiest airports on the planet.

It's 4th in terms of passenger throughput.

1. Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta
2. Dubai
3. Dallas Fort Worth
4. Heathrow

Thousands of cross-USA flights change in Atlanta, it's a massive hub.

aye, I knew the random fact that Atlanta was the busiest airport in the world, but didn't know it's official name

Boris himself said in 2015 he'd lie in front of the bulldozers to stop the Heathrow expansion

Named after two former mayors of Atlanta

I recall back in the 70s talking about an airport "Maplin Sands".

I think Boris J resurrected the idea for a while
