Guest Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 my point doesnt accentuate anything of the sort. it simply confirms that losing Madine had no negative impact on our season. we were 21st when he left & 21st on the final day. if anything it was a positive. Money in the bank and our ppg went up slightly. so you referencing his departure in your statement is irrelevant i dont think there is any debate about Parkinson. He's good at what he does at a certain level. Do i think he can take us much further even with investment? maybe, maybe not. Do i enjoy what i watch? certainly not It isn't irrelevant. Generally when teams lose integral players (especially their top scorer) they get significantly worse. To manage through that shows perhaps, how good Parky is. Quote

So he didnt really work through it and find a solution. He was pretty much forced to play ALF. Who if given the opportunities to play instead of / with Madine earlier in the season wouldve spanked him in the goal scoring charts. so credit where credit is due to PP but the majority of my recognition and appreciation goes to ALF Edited May 14, 2018 by barrycowdrill Quote

Because we changed a lot when Madine went. Initially playing 3-5-2 with Ameobi up with ALF. Then going to a back 4 and getting ALF to run the channels. Also if you take out the first 11 games (given Madine was one of our better players during that period) the stats show a definitive decline in points with Madine here vs him leaving. Madine's and ALF's goals per minute are incredibly similar too this season. The point is whatever the situation Parky turned Madine into a player a team going for promotion would pay £6M for. Madine was sold and we stayed up. However, you want to spin all that it points to one thing, Parky being fooking ace. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Spin all the stats a day bollocks you want. It was a joyless watch most of the time. Any more of the same and folk will fuck off in their droves. Ken has a decision to make. Quote
DirtySanchez Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Did we? You're saying that Beevers is better than Ream? Or Cullen better than Spearing? Or Wheater better than Holding? Or Pratley better than Mark Davies?Mark Davies spent more time injured or couldn't be arsed than good games he had Quote

Had Henry not pitched up, the rest might well be irrelevant, equally we had Ameobi and Vela missing in those games. See when we had our full strength team with Madine we were better than without. In the end though Parky has made the club 6M! Quote

birch-chorley Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I hope we aren’t still talking about Madine come August Fuck me Quote
Traf Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I hope we aren’t still talking about Madine come August Fuck me Who? That cunt was dead to me the minute he left. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 But if parky stays he will be back on loan so the debate will start all over again. I will finally accept he's gone once we have a new manager that isn't route 1. Madine has to play somewhere next year and at the moment its too easy and convenient for it to be here for my liking. Ratwhite Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 What exactly is route one? A racking pass from Chris Smalling to find Ibrahimovich A racking pass from Van Dyke to pick out Salah A racking pass from Howard to be flicked on by Pratley, for ALF to run onto and Cross for Wilbraham to score? Mmmmmmmmmmm Did Sam Allardyce play route one? Does Mourinho play route one? Is there a better "Bolton" way, like WHU and Everton fans seem to think they have. I love to be enlightened... Quote
jmjhb Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 It's a cultured hoof if done by a foreign player obviously Quote
Casino Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 style is, always has been and always will be utter bollocks the only style that matters is getting points i enjoyed all our wins last season and quite a few of our draws if its style you want, why settle for bolton having a go at tippy tappy shite when you may as well see the real thing at city im much more entertained by a scabby 1-0 bolton win than a city 6-0 masterclass Quote
Biggish Dave Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Just got me thinking, when did we last put 6 past anyone? Can't just think of any in the past 20 years off the top of my head Quote
Casino Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 we scored at least 6 on 4 occasions in 96/7 sept grimsby november spurs january luton march swindon Quote
Zico Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Not that its about style but the best team of my lifetime did it 3 times in 96/97 v grimsby, Luton and spurs plus 7 v swindon Quote

desert Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Ive watched that goal about 851 times and was pretty sure it was Henry with the flick on.. :-) you'd be right seeing as pratley wasn't even on the pitch at that point! the cunt behind me was having a pop at henry, but kept calling him pratley, in the end i had to tell him he was subbed 20 mins ago.
