Also I've never wanted to be hench or whatever - just want to never have a gut and be reasonably healthy.

Basically I just always want to look like one of The Replacements or The Dead Boys which is more difficult in your mid 40s!

I also work at a desk all day so going out for a run is good - so many of my colleagues have said since working from home you can work for 8 till 8/9 and you look up and you've not been out of those in two/three days. Gym doesn't really help after the busy days.

Aye, doing body weight stuff at home and it's no where near as satisfying as a run or hitt

I've not done it and probably won't but I really like the look and sound of Hyrox

Still not really put any effort in and not changed the drinking habits

I fear at 210 its going to need exercise but i feel 14 stone is achievable

Well done. Keep it going!!

I’ve had a week all-inc in Egypt to contend with. Worse still, I went over on my ankle half way though the trip, so have a tennis ball on the side of my foot! Managed to walk ok and have done a few spin sessions since. Just need the fucker to heal very very quickly.

Yes pal. Was tough with very little training before it. How about you?

Similar. PW by quite a margin. Not unexpected but am crocked now. Looking like a stress fracture to the shin to add to everything else. 🙄

I did the 24-25 miles in 4:33. Was actually very happy with that. But was sluggish after I came off Great Hill.

Wow! I finished with a severe pain at base of my shin - a new pain for me. Still not gone. Coincidentally the same leg/ankle that I’ve since gone over on.

Good luck with the rehab.

Haha

Never ill, but i do have will power!

I was about 12 and a half stone and i think i looked ill

13.5/14 is my aim, so a stone and change to go

Too risky being too unhealthy at my age :)

Well done. 4:33 is not too shabby at all. A minute in front of a lad from our club who is decent.

I had a word with Hopey at the start, first time I've seen him in a while btw.

I ran with him from the start, plus his GF (SS) and another well known local runner (AS). Hopey ended up doing the 17 mile route again (he came first last year).

The problem with marathons for me is comitting the training time. Just can't be bothered. with a nice half marathon, but can still do decent training without it taking over your life, and you're finished within the morning to actually enjoy the day out
