Can't you sort a zoom piss up?

Get a delivery from a local brewery and arrange a time with like-minded individuals. Hardly ideal, but might break the monotony.

I’m still recovering from 6 cans of DIPA on Tuesday.

It isnt.

Just been an explanation whereby the virus may still be 'caught' and multiply in the nose and possibly throat. Then expressed in the usual way. You won't become ill from it but may still spread it.

Personally, I dont understand that, as I would have thought the antibodies would nobble it and prevent it multiplying, but those that do know, say differently.

I said spreading was an unknown factor in my earlier post. An expert explained that on newsnight last night. The key thing is that immunisation is about 90% effective. Anyway this seems to be a moot point as when most people get the vaccine  infections will drop drastically so it will do the job of defeating this thing🙏

Thank you. So she was right then in what she said.

Your not confused. JVT confirmed during the briefing that there is no firm evidence yet that, although people will be protected with the vaccine, they could not transmit it.

Cheers boby. Let’s hope it’s just a case of there being a lack of evidence to confirm it

51 covid deaths at Blackpool Vic this week.

Bit shit that isnt it.

How many were fit 20 - 50 age group? Hospitals are still labelling deaths as Covid despite, in many cases, Covid being the least of their worries.

Hypothetical Example: 84 year old cancer patient catches Covid19 and dies.

Death due to the cancer that has pretty much been hanging over him for the last four or five years or death due to Corona Virus that has been hanging over him for a couple of weeks?

I’m not saying Covid had nothing to do with the resultant death but I reckon being ravaged by the cancer had a massive part in it.

No problem. Lots of nonsense being spouted. Saw this earlier that explains how the vaccine works.

From this it’s apparent that the vaccine doesn’t prevent the virus entering the body. If it’s in the body, it’s possible, in theory to then spread it.

‘When the vaccine enters cells inside the body, it uses this genetic code to produce the surface spike protein of the coronavirus.

This induces an immune response, priming the immune system to attack coronavirus if it infects the body.’

This ties in exactly with krankies statement then.

it all baffles me. I always thought a vaccine meant you couldn’t catch something. It clearly means different in some cases despite our expert posters protestations otherwise.

im sure the apologies will be forthcoming my way this evening 👍🏼 Shall go and get a beer and wait

Just an assumption but if someone is immune and they ‘catch’ the virus then their viral load of COVID will be low as the virus struggles to replicate (because the host is immune)

The lower the viral load the harder it is to pass it on to another person, if it is passed on then the exposure would be massively reduced and the viral load in the new host will start off smaller giving them a better chance of fighting it naturally

Part of the reason healthcare workers have been hit hard is the fact that they are generally exposed to large viral loads

It's possible to spread it absolutely. But less likely. If you're vaccinated then your immune system will start attaching the coronavirus as soon as it enters your body. So it will find it harder to replicate. So you'll be carrying less COVID around and for a shorter period of time.

Pretty sure that’s what JVT said. But he couldn’t give an absolute assurance. The same thing that Sturgeon was saying. It’s a new vaccine so caution is obviously needed.

Even with the vaccine will it still be masks and varying degrees of precautions for years to come?

Apologies, I know nowt :D

During the briefings, sometimes it’s the small, throwaway remarks that can mean the most. When Boris was asked the same question, he said something along the lines of ‘masks could become the new norm, like South East Asia.’

Aye, he was asked to clarify it later: I dont think there was anything hugely medical in there more a cultural reference- JVT commented too about his Japanese heritage and how its become customery as a means of not spreading coughs and colds.

It might catch on here a tad, but can't see it being remotely mainstream. Still loads can't be arsed at the virus' zenith.

Aye. the vaccine is great news obviously but was a bit wary when i heard folk the other day going on like it's the golden bullet to have things back how they were pretty much immediately. Like i say though i know nowt haha.
