Even still

Getting a brand new piece of kit out in a matter of days from nothing would cost a fortune

It depends what they are doing. If the clever bit is existing technology, the cases are a piece of piss to any company with a laser cutter, bending machines and welders

Minimal set up costs

The ironic thing is the ones who are concerned with politics are the people who cannot tolerate people asking questions of the government. The point of these questions is to represent the NHS staff and public asking them. They are perfectly legitimate questions.

The actions we’ve taken are commendable. But just as we can praise that it’s fair to question some fundamentals that haven’t had real answers yet.

I’m sure the Tories are well aware of what needs doing, they have the best medical advisors on board, I’m sick of hearing from assorted bunch of know nothings chipping in under the  guise of moral outrage when in reality it’s just another political point scoring exercise.

Defend them all you like

What you can't defend is their public pronouncements saying, for example

We will be doin x from tomorrow, by next week etc

And then not doing it

They're either shit or being badly let down by the backroom staff

Before you promise it, make sure you can ffs

It’s not really political point scoring.  I’d just quite like my mam and dad not to die.

If you are referring to ventilators then you are correct that they can be assembled quite quickly however they then have to be pressure tested to ensure that the oxygen levels they are providing are correct as too much can kill as easily as too little.

You do need to be furloughed

Which is a posh word for temporary redundancy

Legally, you cannot do any work for your employer while furloughed

Just been informed by my company that I've been furloughed until 31st may

Cheers casino for pointing me in the right direction

Are these the same CEO's thayt yesterday you were saying lie all the time and would use this crisis as a way to do stuff that would otherwise be illegal, or a completely different type of CEO ?

I don't remember saying the CEOs lied ? I do remember saying that they had their Bonuses protected etc, but that has got nothing to do with bypassing Medical Ventilator companies has it ?

I can accept that. Only so many times you can say it before staff get disillusioned etc.

If materials, testing labs/staff or whatever are in short supply, don't promise it, just express it as an aim but qualify it.

Good to see Kent doing it now, so hopefully things are getting better.

no doubt, but there were probably asked two different questions:

Q1) How do we best protect people's lives?
A1) Full lockdown from the off

Q2) How do we best protect the economy?
A2) Sort of lockdown, let people go to work, ask the rest to stay at home and hope they do

We had a head start, as did the states, and we both went with 2 - and now it's getting messy

it's not point scoring, it's pointing out what has happened and assuming why we went down this route

as said previously, I still think China have massively played it down, and other countries have trusted their numbers/data when making their decisions

There are video's doing the rounds, one of them is absolute grim and there is a wrapped body outside every other house.

No way could they stop the virus as quickly as they did (only rose by 3k in a month havving rose 70k the previous month).

Sepp Bergmann, because I can see the Alps from my House down in Bavaria, and Sepp because it's a typical Bayerisch name. Never been with a Ladyboy, so definately nowt to do with Bassini :)

we could and should have done a south Korea and what now looks like a Germany - test as much as you can early on - isolate the infected early, trace back everyone whos been in contact with an infected person- attack the virus head on, we are doing a defensive manoeuvre at the moment - experts were saying this in mid Jan - priority should have been testing.

We aren't getting over this in 2 weeks as some people seem to think...

This is what worries me.My Mother in Law and Father in Law both still think Boris will have it sorted in two weeks. They don't understand. No one could have this sorted in two weeks. It's going to be months at the very best. The "lockdown" we have in Bavaria is being extended, in fact all Germany I believe, and we have some of the better figures with regards to infection/hospitalisation/death rates.

How easy is it in reality to trace back all the people an individual has met?

Especially once it gets out into the wider public.

How many countries followed this advice? Any idea?
