miamiwhite
For those of us not old enough to remember it fully, this is a good mini series highlighting it. Episode below is Leeds v DMB, and the Reds getting legged a few minutes in. Other episodes show the Leeds v United semi at Hillsborough, with loads of fake tickets causing problems, the infamous Leppings Lane fences were erected originally for that match. Another episode shows Leeds v City around 76, plenty of trouble at that one.

Johnnyrotten
Great stuff. The flares, the scarves around the wrists, the hair, away fans openly in the main home end. Priceless.

Maybe Roger has a copy of the episode where Leeds actually turn up in Eccles 😁

Maddest thing though was our mutual Wigan mate Leigh White still wears the same clobber 😃

Roger_Dubuis
Leeds didn't fancy that FA Cup semi final at Hillsborough. They were only allocated the Kop and couldn't sell all their tickets.United had the other 3 stands and some fans in the Kop.If Leeds were playing any other club they'd have been all over an FA Cup semi final in Yorkshire Edited October 12, 2020 by Roger_Dubuis
Site Supporter MickyD Posted October 12, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted October 12, 2020 Been to loads of away games (and one or two homes) when your attention was on the gap between home and away fans to ensure you weren’t clobbered by a stone, brick, bottle, coin or worst of all, dart. There might of been more United there and they were in kop also . But can remember seeing Leeds fans in the stands at the side of the pitch so it wasn’t 3 sided with United . leigh white
I loved 70s football in my teens and early 20s, you never knew what to expect. Been some very intimidating places and towns like Preston were you think it was going to be a cakewalk in 73 would find yourself in all sorts of mither on the long walk back to the station with Bolton splintered everywhere and PNE knowing all the ambush points. But you always went the following game with your mates and had a laugh.

Blondi
Just watched some of the Leeds Vs Man City cup game, had to laugh when the Man City fans were on the football special train on the way to Leeds and one of the coppers said "right any of you lot move and I'll give you a bloody good hiding!" Spot on. Seemed every Bolton nutter was there that night. We were on the Embankment which was a good mixture of Bolton and Leeds with a few brave red army types around. Seem to remember Warbys being involved in the first skirmish with DMB's under the scoreboard and it all kicked off from there. Didn't last too long. Fair bit of bother on the way back up Manny Road too. Remember windows going through but didn't realise Bolton Tech received special treatment. Regarding the game itself, wasn't the only goal a Billy Bremner back header?
Take Hunt Off
Bremner definitely, penalty I think. I was in Manny rd North which was all Bolton really.I do remember it kicking off a bit on the Embankment. When Bremner scored the imbalance in the support was obvious. Site Supporter Steejay Posted October 13, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted October 13, 2020 It was a Bremner back header at the Lever End.
