L/H White Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 At the darts here When we originally got tickets every day was a compete sellout Lots of empty seats, and you can now get tickets for most days again Quote

Zico Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 done an LFT, negative, so the sports casuals piss up is still on, but without the hassle of having to go to the match, so even better Quote

So the failure rate has effectively gone from 11.4% to 5.4%. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 Just finished on the phone with T&T, they said my isolation can end 10 days after I first started feeling ill, which will be Monday! Fucking ace. I'm not going anywhere but the it's the fact I can that matters. Quote

Spider Posted December 17, 2021 Author Posted December 17, 2021 Aren’t there something like a thousand new viruses discovered every year? Almost all are harmless to us Eventually, one was bound to find a way round our defences. Lets hope it’s not a repeating pattern because if there are more around the corner we are fucked. Proper fucked. Quote

Having had the bugger last August I firmly believe it was an unnatural virus because how it behaved inside my body. Quote

Mate, even if it was a man made virus (I doubt it but you never know with the Chinese government) they can't programme it to act in a specific way in your body. There are hundreds of different symptoms depending on the person, its only the most common we can try and nail down. Quote
Dimron Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 The fact remains that a Chinese virologist was carrying out Corona virus research on specimens of interest identified in some bat inhabited caves in rural China. It was sponsored by multi national pharmacy as it had been banned in the US as too risky. Somehow it got into the nearby live food market, probably a cleaning contractor hadn't taken the necessary precautions or whatever... complacency happens. Then it spread on the back of Chinese New Year when everyone wants to get together and then the airlines did the rest. No conspiracy here, just the biggest smoking gun in history and our increasing globalisation Quote

Basically researching existing viruses and making them 'gain function' by mixing em with other viruses. What could go wrong. Quote

I think that might be the made up bit The lab in question was round the corner or something The food market was a convenient excuse but was a a seafood one and didn't sell bats, plus they were hibernating anyway Basically folk who worked in the lab took their work home with them Quote

Sars and mers also came from bats iirc, so again not implausible. The lab route is also plausible- but again, not necessarily something sinister. Moreover, if it was a bio weapon, then it wasn't exactly selective, and nobbled many of their own. Not a particularly plausible route this one for me. Quote

Aye, the article i linked to a acknowledges it comes from bats, which were found in a mine, it's not in doubt bats were the source But the market initially blamed doesn't sell bats, the market is round the corner from a lab that was studying the virus found in the bats they found in the mines Basically, it came from bats and shoddy attitude to workplace safety at the lab meant it got out info the general public Quote

Dimron Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I have to agree that it was probably not engineered as a bio weapon but it was the weirdest and most ill I have ever been and that was after 2 jabs. That is why I can only describe it as unnatural. The Asta Zeneca probably saved me but it gave me some blood complications that led to me enduring some pretty intrusive investigations. I have also read recently that our neglect of HIV treatment in the African continent has led to the Covid virus being able to develop in immunity deficient hosts. Quote
Morizio Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I suppose there’s progress really, when bad AIDS came out the conspiracy theories and origin of the disease were in a non exhaustive list strange, offensive and vulgar. Quote
