Lunch? Lunch?

Are you Hyacinth Bucket?

You've gone down in my estimation when you wrote that.

You're from Bolton ffs - it's DINNER.

I've no issue with saying lunch for dinner.  However dinner is never tea.

Exactly this!

After getting blinding headaches for 12 hours after my first two jabs I'm happy to report my only side effects from the booster are that Mike Tyson has given me a dead arm.  Happy Days.

That’ll be the 5G microchip

true, the "dead arm affect" actually eases the closer you stand to one of the 5G masts as well I've noticed. I've also noticed that I get a slightly stronger phone signal if I hold my mobile in my left hand(my left arm was jabbed) instead of in my right hand

What more proof do people need?

Lunch is used by southern ponces.

And Dinner for tea is bollocks unless you plan on dressing formally and being served.

'Lunch' from 'Pret' - a crime that would receive 60 lashes of the cat in my world (you know who you are!)

Can't complain if other nations ramp up travel restrictions. Only doing what we did to try to slow it down.

It will be the dominant one in most places soon enough.

Where we were a couple of weeks or so ago.

We should be doing the same. Not sure if we are or not but I very much doubt it.

The “South Africa aren’t worried” narrative is a little flawed.

Turns out they have a much lower aged population (no oldies) and are currently living within fairly medium/high restrictions:

Also, it’s the height of summer there.

We're relaxing things a bit now it's endemic here. Just as all nations have done previously.

No doubt if the gamma variant is found in Turkey etc and is a worry, we'll close that place down a bit.

Utterly pointless

Bit fuzzy headed still but again load better today. I can understand though if you're older and already ill it could do damage.

Half the west end shut, theatre's doing refunds all over the shop due to cancellations. Bookings for the new year are fine though. People just want to get through Christmas and see their families it would seem.

Whilst its been a shit week, I'm glad I've had it and its hopefully out of the way now, again though I'd be going nowhere until a least a week after my booster at the moment and its actually doing it's job. Going out with 10% protection? Not worth it.

What asking people to test within 24 hours and have a good reason for coming in the first place? How is that pointless?

Had my booster at Horwich RMI last night. No side effects, not even a dead arm, so they've probably just injected me with soda water. We'd pre-booked but no queue for walk ins. Not a chance I'm missing the game on Saturday but that's all I'll be doing (other than spending every day in work) until my usual Christmas Eve piss up.

It's understandable at first. If another case or two of Omicron came in now though, it's unlikely to affect numbers that are already surging throughout society.

Once Europe is riddled with it and they've got s handle on things, they'll ease restrictions a bit. Happened with Delta.

Apologies

I thought you meant stopping in comers to the country, like France. Which is a futile gesture.

sorry!

Lockdown from 20th December in Wales is the rumour round here today.

What do they they think they might achieve?

Schools are preparing for online lessons next month.

Spoke to a company that does a lot of logistics for Wetherspoons earlier and he said they were very uncertain about the next few weeks.

Might want to get your pub time in sooner rather than later because some restrictions are definitely coming. Still don't hink it'll be a full lockdown like the first time though.

If I were PM (which let's be straight, I should be), I would push the vaccine and bring in punitive measures only for unvaxxed
