Really enjoyed last nights game. Masterclass from Italy. Enjoyed Ireland v Sweden too. Cant wait to get home and wack Austria v Hungary on :-D  Bloody love these tournaments.

A few years ago, when Otto von Hapsburg was still alive (and a German MEP), one of his Brussels colleague asked him if he was going to watch the Austria-Hungary game that evening.

To which he replied "Who are we playing?".

Someone (can't remember which pundit) made the case that Italy have the best chance becasue they simply have the best manager - that no other manager at these finals would be given a top club job at any of the top leagues. Seems a fair point. Not the best individuals but that's not the point and all understand the system that is being asked of them, rather than starting a tournament with a totally new way of playing, or changing it hugely every single game.

You're thinking of Helguson.

Add in Gunnlaugsson as well.

Replace Clough (Denton) with Sam Ashton.

We had Olaf Snorrason and Birkir Kristinsson both in the squad but didn't play first team - would assume we've had a few Bolton-born players in the same boat.

Gunnlaugsonn was superb for us for a short spell, one of the few players we got more than they were worth for.

Dunno

At the time he was that good for us it felt a let down he went to Leicester for 2m
