Said this many moons ago, think it was after a draw at The Reebok v West Brom circa 2002 ish ?

I remember the first person to ask me about it was Mounts.

I’d basically lost interest in home games then and also football in general, but still did the away trips.

The Reebok was and still is utterly shite compared to Burnden.

It’s got no soul or character. Crikey, The Manny Road North had more go in it at half two before the Bill emptied and all the empty headed not rights bowled in just on kick on.

Since then and the heraldl of the big money.....Too much money, spent on mediocre players has killed the game.

Wankers like Coyle, Eagles, Sordell, Amos, Andrews and many more, must be truly be pissing their sides, wondering how they’ve accumulated such wealth by contributing so little. I will not pay cents like that my hard earned brass, fuck off.

This isn’t football, it’s now a middle class business watched by loyal fans, but by JCL wankers.

To an extent, all seater stadiums have reduced atmosphere and the banter, fun and enjoyment. Mitigated any shit games/defeats.

Not so easy for folk just to rock up at the last minute, pay at the turnstile and walk in.

Queues before kick off to get tickets for example.

That said, if it's right on the pitch fans will still come.

Couldn't have said it better myself

I had a season ticket for 9 years before I went away to university in 2011, and have some impossibly great memories of that time.

Although I've been back in Bolton for 5 years, I've not had one since (gone to about 7-8 home games a season since, and a few of the northern away days). Last season, I gave up after that mauling at home to Norwich, and I haven't been since.

However, this summer made me realise that I had been taking it all for granted. Genuinely don't know if I could follow football again if the unthinkable happened. So, against my better judgement (and that of my football-hating missus), I'm 100% coming back this season. I don't really care if our ragtag squad of kids and flids get stuffed every game - I just want to see 11 blokes give their all for that famous white shirt.

Count me in - £20, £24, £240, whatever. I can't sit around half-listening to Tower FM while the existence of the club I've followed all my life hangs in the balance.

For me, the love affair with the routine of going to the Reebok/Macron/UniBol ended after that clueless wanker Coyle took us down. Thats the last season i had a ST.

Thereafter I picked and chose my games and as i did i found myself more often than not choosing to do something else instead.

It wasn't simply being relegated that made me walk away, far from it actually. It was a multitude of factors - games being switched, kicking off at daft o'clock (Sunday noon), the general matchday experience, in-fighting amongst the fans, fewer of my mates going, approaching my mid 30's and having more demands on my own free time too.

I still have pangs of guilt for walking away and get to as many away games as i can. Though i can't think what it would take for me to get another ST, when they finally are on sale.

But i'll be there come Saturday as i feel i HAVE to be. Surely anyone who had the bug and lost it for whatever reason would feel the same given the shitshow that we've experienced over the last 8-9 months?

I drove 4 hours each way to Wycombe. Just me and Yoof.

Got back just after 9.

Would not swap that for B&Q.

The club was a part of my growing with my dad and it is same for me and Yoof (step son).

I can't give my season ticket up, even though I miss at least 8 or 9 homes a season. If I gave it up, I'd find an excuse not to go or something more important and/or appealing would crop up.

This is where I'm at. I don't go to Tuesday games and miss occasional Saturdays so I probably attend between 50 & 75% of the season.

waiting for season tickets to go on sale...

Rushed off my feet all day yesterday and then rough as so didn't get a ticket, had it been pay on doors today I'd have been.

Season ticket since I've been 14, aside from a few of the premiership years.

Really hope they get ST's announced this week. The good feeling of today and last week will surely win a few more undecideds to buy or renew.

Last thing we need is STs to go on sale after we get well beat

If upper tiers remain closed, how are st's gonna work?

Start from scratch ??

Fuck knows! Just think the good feeling will evaporate the minute the kids get trounced so timing could key purely from a £££ point of view.

I've been in LOV the last few seasons but was in ESL today. I understand that they can't offer ST's anywhere until admin is over and we can prove we can fulfill the fixtures. For corporate they have to have some form of catering in place... I'd pay a couple of hundred quid more than ESL for Carr's pasties and a glass pint rather than plastic if they are struggling for caterers!

I'd take lower tiers only if everyone today was there every week. Proud as fuck with our team and our fans today!👍

I do think upper tier will be available in at least 1 stand. Enough people prefer it to make it worth while. Prob West upper as it’s the main stand. Wouldn’t be too much bother offering equivalent seats in west upper for the east upper season ticket folk.

Not sure where that leaves North upper though? Rope some off maybe like the away end

North upper is family stand but it’s been sparse for years put them near casino in west lower

i would say keep one upper tier open for steejay & Mick brown

job done

Put Steejay in the lower, he might be able to focus on the game from there - or H more likely could

If proving to the efl that they have sufficient funds involves FV closing the top tiers, I'd be concerned.

In all reality, what would the overall savings be and how would that compare to first team wages for example?

Perhaps the creation of a singing/ultras/nob-heads section for improved atmosphere?

People say it makes no difference financially closing the top tiers I really beg to differ

within the 3 available Lowe tiers you could find homes for the old cunts, singers & families

still massive gaps yesterday so plenty of room

Our very own leyther Matt, with his knowledge explained a bit about this elsewhere. He said the savings wouldn't be as big as expected.

Let's also remember, that the kiosks yesterday were once again staffed by individuals with blank expressions, seemingly little experience and poor understanding of English. Might be over generalising here, but it's not an uncommon experience for me. They are fairly slow at serving, with 'managers' also apparently clueless.

If everyone is pushed into bottom stands, plenty just won't bother trying to get served at half time, and income that way could drop.
