Come on Mounts, that’s clearly nonsense The government haven’t asked all and sundry (Dyson etc) to turn to making Ventilators from scratch in a few weeks because we are in a comfortable position in terms of numbers (might be now, but won’t be when we get near a peak) The Governor of New York, one of the richest areas in the world is banging on every day over how they don’t have anywhere near enough ventilators The fact is, their isn’t anywhere near enough in the world to deal with this Pandemic, no matter what country your in. Same can be said for PPE to a certain extent A former Labour cabinet minister was on Newsnight the other night saying that a Pandemic like this has been top of the ‘risk register’ forever and successive governments going back decades from both sides have failed to make adequate provision for if / when it finally happened Then again, not many who end up on a ventilator come off them alive from what I can see, they were on the news the other day cheering as they finally got the first patient off one and into recovery.
