Don't give a fuck what anyone says, that's a belting window.

I think the opinion and expectations of a fan Base who, at best, are entitled north of the border should be taken with a pinch of salt. just because they’re not 18 points clear already this season they want all the board sacked. I’ll judge him on how he plays in a white shirt rather than those vile green and white hoops

There are people on Twitter and Facebook 24/7 who seem to think they fully understand how these negotiations work. But I honestly think they get their mum to sort out their mobile phone contracts.

I'm not sure I get the panic about bringing in a striker. Get Dalby and Burstow some proper service with these new lads and there's enough goals there for me.

When you look at it logically the change in priorities makes sense Player 1 - back injury that needs a specialist programme, still recovering from a knee injury, month away from fitness, hefty loan fee with an obligation to buy player 2 - previously interested, younger, match fit, maybe an option to buy but also minimal risk long term i know Hardie is proven at this level (albeit before the injuries) but if your decent enough to be in celtics squad you should be decent enough for L1) but we know January isn’t a time for any rational thoughts

We did, if course bring someone else in, as first choice, Taylor. His pre-season injury gave Max his chance, & he took it. Meanwhile, Taylor really has looked poor. I recall early on seeing criticism of playing Max & said if we'd 'swooped' for Crewe's 21yr old player of the season & Lg.2 team of the year player we'd all be excited at the find. I stand by that.
  7. I don't think this board needs the opinions of a Canadian Bolton fan with no family ties to the club 😅 but I appreciate it. I come here to read and I appreciate the broad range of opinions (joined 2009). Over time I've whittled off checking other board because WWays seems the most authentic and tons of you are multi generational fans, something I'll never experience so it's just a nice aspect of following the club from afar.
  8. I agree with the sentiment - we’ve beaten teams that we should have done. The 13 points in 5 is impressive, but it was in line with expected results. However, just because it would be expected on paper - it’s another thing to go and do it, and to have done it with 3 away clean sheets and variation in formation is all the more impressive. Bleakest football you’ve ever seen a Bolton team play… you’ve got to be kidding?

Funny that last week the idea was that we'd dodged a bullet by missing out on Kenny in the summer, and Ryan Hardie was the prolific striker we need. Now Kenny is the man and Hardie is a crock. Never seen either of them play to any great degree, and there is bound to be risks signing any forward in January. If they were a sure thing they'd be playing for their parent clubs. We needed a striker, we've got one of the strikers we've had a long term interest in. Can't ask for much more than that. Let's see how it all plays out. If we all predicted now what the games, goals and general fan sentiment would be towards our new signings by the end of the season, none of us would be correct.
  11. Just a lurker here. Was well pissed off that day and had a knee jerk reaction. SS in.

Conway as an above average starting player is one of the best finds this season. He just needs a rest.

Can we have a ban on screenshots of this shit making its way into wanderersways. 1 - it’s senseless shite 2 - you all mock him but then spread his ramblings even further afield 3 - it’s ruining my social media purge Stop giving him the attention he wants.

He had decided that window was crap before it closed and is now trying to convince himself he is right. Of the 5 outfielders that left only 2, JDC and Morley had made any significant contribution. Neither keeper had looked good enough. The incoming mainly been playing at clubs at a higher level, the outgoings none have moved up. We are stronger than at start of window that is clear. I like JDC and Morley but they were not playing.

Feels like he will be starting on the bench seen as we've won 4 of the last 5 I'd say.

If anyone would’ve set 2 weeks ago we’d end up with a potential front 4 of Kenny, Rodrigues, Apter and CBT with Gale McAtee Burstow and Dalby to support everyone would’ve absolutely bitten your arm off.

Apparently Hardie won't be fit for possibly the next 6 weeks, and also receives specialist treatment for a long term back problem. No wonder Wrexham wanted shut permanently, and equally no wonder we went elsewhere.

January windows are not for building long term visions they are for assessing the sesaon so far and deciding who you don't need, and what you need to bring it, based on the season so far and how you hope it pan out based on that I think it's been an excellent window both in and out won't miss anyone who's left and the ins should make us much stronger 10/10

Think it’s fair to say we’d know what we’re going to get with apter and Rodrigues. Anyone with any remote knowledge or watches coverage of the EFL would have noted performances at other clubs.. lesser extent Kenny but he’s at a club who has a large television profile so not hard to find. Would say the one anyone would have the least knowledge about is CBT yes you never know how these moves work out in the end but it does give you a good idea at the point of signing

Those of you that had ever knowingly seen any of the new signings play might have 😀 Its like the summer again, all them new signings and most of us didn't have a clue who they were or how they'd been scouted. I was convinced Taylor was going to be the main man at the back replacing GJ as left side CB. Dalby was going to be nodding in goals left right and centre from crosses and corners. And Sheehan would be pushed out because we'd signed better! TSL, the new James Trafford, was here for a season but if we could get promoted we might be able to buy him for a couple of mil. No point over thinking it, we'll just see how it all develops.

Maybe we used a supposed chase for Hardie as a way of taking others off the scent of Kenny. Looking forward to seeing all these new signings play, we're in for a potentially blockbuster end to this season

“Long drive this morning” the social media kiddy said he was doing a player interview earlier today so makes sense. looks like we backed out of Hardie much earlier then

Apparently, the "deal sheet" thing that extends the window by 2 hours has only been brought in this season for EFL clubs in order to align with the Premier League, which explains @L/H White's confusion, as he's an absolute disgrace Liverpool traitor scumbag. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/25816391.transfer-deadline-day-deal-sheets-explained-efl-clubs/

There's a reason why we have chosen not to pursue Hardie and with it being a loan and probably well affordable there's a reason why. Fans getting angry because of Huddersfield but they're the least club I'd look at enviously from a recruitment standpoint. Got them to pay a hefty fee for Charles and they also paid 3 million for Joe Taylor who's loaned out at Wigan.

On the Hardie one, i'm not exactly disappointed tbf as hardly prolific

This Charlie Warren stuff, I would love it to all become true. He represents the millions of us who had dreams, however unrealistic, of breaking through even after being told it would never happen. I only gave up hoping in my 50's & still today keep my phone by me at all times, just in case. It probably won't come about for Charlie, at our levels, but imagine if it did !

Our brightest spark and biggest asset, youth product though so naturally the Facebook mob can't wait to turn on him and call him shite. Probably will get accused of being fat and having an ego problem soon as well.

Plaudits due to the Board and Fergal. The lads they brought in all look decent and the squad looks very competitive now. Hopefully we’ll have enough to get over the line.

Funny isn’t it, the implosion in the summer because the board wouldn’t spend the money to get Kenny. 5 months later the same people are at it again because we’re now close to doing so 🤣

This we've umpteen "winger" types and a chap who can head the ball (or shin it) into the onion bags. Our squad IS better. and we've got Reuben to play yet. Fuck Huddersfield. That Wrexham chap will probably crumple after three games with a poppadom knee

Plays at a higher standard than Kenny then. 😁

True. If he's not fit for another 5/6 weeks though then we're only looking at 10 games at best for him to try and get some rhythm not inc Play offs. Probably not the end of the world tbf.

I’m with you Kenty. Conway is a very promising youngster, who could have a good career ahead of him. Unfortunately, he’s had to play too many minutes this season, because his alternative - Taylor - had been poor and is now injured. We do have the option of recalling Sam Inwood from Aldershot, if required. He’s always been used as a left centre back by us, but is playing left back for them.

I don't care who starts or how we get it done, just need the 3 points! And glad to be here! Well been here since 2023 but lurked until now haha. American fan for several years due to my main man Tim Ream and if I vent, just keep in mind I am a teacher!😄
