Its a frustrating little period of time this and that sensation will be heightened if our incomings remain static and we have to absorb a defeat or two on the pitch. I just think what we have to bear in mind is that it is so very obviously because we are waiting for Prem teams (and Celtic) to make decisions. Whether loans or permanent deals we are therefore aiming at the top end and for improvement. I do think we have a little bit of money to spend. I also think the playing down of the budget is deliberate to help with the nitty gritty of negotiations. Last thing you need is agents and opposition managers knowing you've got loads of cash. Having said that it is also patently clear we are nowhere near as minted as plenty in this league. SS handles himself well in those interview situations. I don't think the comms team at BWFC will be in too much of a sweat after that hour, he seemed to stick to the brief and remain calm and collected while doing so.

Don’t be. We were told; Patience is the key We were targeting 5/6 in for pre-season Things happen late in a World Cup Year We won’t be rushed in finding the best players for BWFC

They've obviously not been through many transfer windows.... don't think this one is any different to any of the others. I blame the lack of underage drinking in society today.

Just listened to ss ont wireless, absolute no panic whatsoever about where the squad is at and confirming (again) thay they all know what is needed in the next few WEEKS. He knows his stuff does ss . Total faith in the lad. He also said we have a bigger budget for signings than he had with Plymouth when they got promoted (what they spent i ain't got a clue)

Believe there's only been one PL to Championship loan done so far: Pierce Charles to QPR. But yeah, sack the recruitment team.

  12. I just think Evatt was an idiot and out of his depth. Markham has just announced Huddersfield not going up but building a hotel would be a good season. Progress yes. Good season😂 We now have good people in good departments.
  13. Some cock asked Darren Mcwhatshisface on talksport about us the other day. He said same as any club in the Championship and even his Peterborough, folk need to relax. All the prem teams are only just figuring out who's going where on loan. That has a major play in the rest of it. We go sign some fucker for £3m and the next day a Prem team decides to loan their best youngster.
  14. guaranteed score.
  15. I do think this one is unique in the sense we got promoted via the play-offs so started later, need a bit of a squad overhaul given some of our best players were on loan and returned to their parent clubs/we have a few who aren't good enough and need getting rid of, the World Cup delayed things, we're now competing in different markets with clubs who have greater financial clout, have to be mindful of the SCR, etc. There's not a great deal the club can do about it and I'm not claiming it justifies all the panic on social media but it's quite a bit different this year in my opinion
  16. The only reason I'm not currently worried is that there's still nearly a month of the window left open. Although we'd obviously get destroyed over the course of the season in our current state, I do feel like we'd be strong enough to grind out home wins v Preston and Lincoln, and go to QPR to potentially battle for a point. Then we can really assess where we are (and everyone else) when the window SLAMS shut. Theres no way our starting team v Preston is the same one against, say, Millwall early September.
  17. Alreet I’m reassured Cheers pal

  31. I'm not sure I've ever fretted about anybody perishing in the channel. Personally I think if you're daft enough to try and cross one of the world's busiest sea lanes in a rubber dinghy, then you shouldn't be surprised when it goes horribly wrong. I'd be very happy with zero crossings starting this afternoon. I just don't think causing a major international incident with France and Belgium is the best solution. Or using an overstretched Royal Navy and no doubt enormous cost. We'd immediately alienate the people who are most likely to be able to help us fix the problem. And we'd not get that trust back for a long, long time. The idea of plonking some boats there as a deterrent and part of the solution isn't necessarily a bad idea. But could this not be a properly resourced border force for example?
  32. reform stopping the boats is like 350m a week going back into the nhs Farage makes promise to get votes wins election can't deliver promise he blames everyone else voters blame everyone else farage better off voters not but at least they won
