As mentioned, Anglesey, Lakes, Northumberland but I'm also a big fan of Shropshire and Herefordshire too. Would love to get up to Skye and beyond one day but its a bit of a slog with the dog. There's loads of amazing towns and cities to visit too, with places of interest, sights, great eating etc. This last couple of seasons we've combined away games with long weekends in London, Cambridge, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Norwich. There northwards is fairly bleak to be honest as it is mainly moorland, with very cold winters. Orkney is an odd one, mostly windy as fuck but slightly warmer than the Highlands. Like I say, the history is something else. That crazy GB News mentalist loved it before Covid warped his mind, he probably loves it even more now! Aye Remember reading that Sutherland is one of the most sparsely populated areas in Europe. Quite like the bleakness of it at times. But prefer the west coast, it's mesmerising.
