FrancisFogarty Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 1958 ? That stadium roofline looks like ours 60odd years later. Only with less on. Quote

Tavern in Stoneclough with some of his mates from Social Circle. No doubt you know his lad then? Had some great racing days with him and the FSC mob. Quote

A number of good friends of mine played there for many years which is how I got in on the racing days organised by Big Bob and Jimmy Mac. Great little club as far as the social side was concerned which is sort of what it said on the tin. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Fuckin hell. RIP to one of the "gravel rash" twins. Quote
Steejay Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Sad day, genuine BWFC legend. Never saw him play for us but saw him turning out at Breightmet United in the Combination. My grandad told me about the televised final when he smashed the ball in the air and the mic caught him shouting ‘th’ighest yet’, in a broad Bolton accent. RIP Quote
paulhanley Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 One of our best and one of our own. RIP Tommy Banks. Quote
Underpants Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Did I read that up to his death he was the oldest living England player? Quote

wakey Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 "Legend" is over used these days, but this mon was a proper Bowton legend on and off the pitch. For any who haven't already, read his book - cracking read. Quote
MancWanderer Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 RIP my dad’s favourite BWFC player May be controversial but some folk of my dad’s generation held him and Ray Hartle in higher esteem than Nat Quote
