Im no fan of hart but like it or not, hes running a business and i reckon we get more profit at 20 than 15

looking back, last time it was more than £10 was v Walsall in 2018 - £15

Have we reached fa cup 3  before under FV?

I make this the biggest cup game for years

But we are also a 'community' club. So the decision is not totally commercial. With the run of games and cost we will incur as fans the club could have chosen to make a thank you gesture. Without bankrupting themselves.

I have no problem with the pricing but we can not use the hard commercial line one week and then talk about being a community club the next.

I wonder were the ST consulted on this one ?

no, first time

probably biggest FA Cup game since Liverpool in 2015, dunno what the price was

Villa was £10 last season and we could've spanked them for £20 a ticket no problem, they'd have still probably sold out regardless

I don't think that we'd have charged £20 for a 3rd round replay against, for example, Swansea

Indeed

Be one or the other

I think the ST had their hands full picking pre-kick off  the song list

While you might be right, does somebody in the club think the bolton public think theres more value in seeing us play luton than swansea

I can only speak for myself and neither are remotely attractive

Keep with the cheap season tickets and I think they’ve ticked that box, personally.

£20 for an FA Cup game against a Premier League team seems fair to me. Same price as Altrincham v Rochdale. Yes it’s a bit of a jump from the other £10 games, but they were either early rounds of the League Cup or against lower division sides. And let’s not forget that the EFL Trophy games have doubled this year (and still a bargain compared to tomorrow night!)

Also noteworthy is the game being arranged at a week’s notice so the club will get shafted for agency staff for stewards and kiosks

Yeah I think hart does with his 20k comment

We may get a decent crowd yet but I'll be impressed if it's over 15k

It's not an attractive fixture so maybe the price won't have too much bearing

I just fancy going to this and haven't been to any cup games in recent years bar Stockport away, I suspect others just fancy it too

But would guess the crowd will be nearer 10k than 20k

And I think it's only £20 because Neil overestimates how many folk are up for it

Correct.

It’s just not VFM.

Sat freezing your tits off on a Tuesday night after rushing home from work and against a PL team in name only.

Been that many games lately that I’m thinking only 8K or so.

Thing is I doubt a ten pound discount will make any difference on those with that mindset.

League home games at night are 'free' with my ST and I still dont for reasons you mention :D

If it makes people like me think twice (It’s £50 I hadn’t planned on spending next week, same week as Orient away) then it’s definitely going to knock a few thousand off the crowd. Probably more like 8k than 15k now.

Poor decision if it’s one that Luton didn’t influence.

Spot on

You look at February & march and it’s screaming out money that’s without anymore potential fa cup/pizza games

it will be a case of prioritising for many

True, I'm already looking at knocking Northampton on the head.

I'm intrigued as to what fans think a "community club" actually means.

Whichever way it is viewed, the club has to stand on its own feet to be viable. If not there is no community club at all.

We have very good value season tickets, and are heading in the right direction financially.

The hierarchy have a decision to make, and have still offered a reduced cost ticket.

Of course costs to fans at a busy time is always a consideration, and some will give certain ones a miss. Even at a tenner some will choose not to attend, especially with parking, food etc.

We must lose a bit on pizza games, and I suppose that's not something that they feel we can continue to do.

A tough one this. I was hoping for the £10 tickets. For me, in a family of 4, it's going to cost us £88 in tickets and travel, in an already congested fixture month a couple of weeks after Christmas whilst cost if living is still massively inflated.

They're my circumstances though and not the clubs. But I do think it will generally create a bit of tension and a severe lack of interest in the fixture, that will end up seeing them earn less as a club, than they would with the £10 ticket scheme

£20 = 12000 tickets sold and a shit atmosphere

£10 = 20,000 tickets sold, good atmosphere and more money through the kiosk tills
