Wanderlust
Don't know how we'll go on against Derby - complete contrast in styles. They're solid and have good strikers but if we play with the same intensity and pace as last night we'll outpass and outscore them. For me, the best aspect of last night is that we didn't overcomplicate things and the players had the freedom to take defenders on and shoot when they thought they had a chance. It was almost as if Evatt said forget the "processes" - just go out and do what comes naturally for you. As long as he doesn't overthink it and reel the lads back in again through worrying about Derby's attack we should be reet. Slight concern about injuries and discipline for this one though - it'll be intense. Edited March 13 by Wanderlust
Site Supporter Ratwhite Posted March 13 Site Supporter Share Posted March 13 We have the ability to beat these. Dwight Gayle is their version of Dion Charles (shithouse to play against) anyway come on Stevenage.

All the U's are rooting for Posh though.

That 2nd spot has 4 teams going for it, not just 2. We would then have to win at least 5 of the last 7. It could also mean that we are down to 5th before we play again at Stevenage. Games in hand, as we have shown are worthless. Anyway have we got it in us to win a real biggie away from home? I honestly don’t think we have. Agree with your win/loss judgements M. I think a draw still leaves it open, as it will slightly be in their favour but one point over 7 games can easily be turned around. 7 hours ago, Duck Egg said: Some tough remaining fixtures left. This is probably the toughest. For all the plaudits this team rightly receives, there's still a question mark over their performances in the biggest/toughest of games. Saturday would be a great time to put any such doubts to bed. C'mon Wanderers! 8 hours ago, woolli said: Very close to selling out now Derby, a few hundred tickets left by all accounts. Biggest gate of the season anticipated. They are making it a " Black n White" day apparently, pushing scarves and flags all over the ground. Going to be some atmosphere, let’s hope we have the bottle to cope. It will be up there with Crawley and Plymouth (Wembley) as top, key, defining wins for Evatt if he pulls off a victory at Derby. There’s so much to overcome; history, big club, intimidating atmosphere, recent let downs in the big local games, injuries to key players. It’s more those things @woolli rather than bottle to cope, if we don’t get the victory we crave. It’s also the reason a draw wouldn’t be season defining. It would keep us well in the hunt with (hopefully) key players to return. This won’t be another Oxford. Warne will have them well drilled and they’ll be wily, direct and synical. All that said I think our best is better than there’s, but there could be plenty of other factors in play! Can Saturday bring about a “special” BWFC moment? Too right it can! Not saying he's more important than the performance of an entire team, but if I had a choice of who has a good day between him and Collins for eg, I'd take the ref every time in a game like this. Needs to be strong, and not to have a grudge against us or Santos.
