Grim game that lol The day was topped off on the way home when the car in front hit a cat and it went 10 foot in the air doing triple somersaults. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 I've just seen the big decisions at Derby v Reading. The sending off was harsh to say the least, and I'm being polite. But the penalty is scandalous. Player goes through searching a long pass, can't quite reach it so sticks his arm out to try to knock it past the oncoming keeper. They collide. Should have been a booking to the Derby player, but no - penalty. Another example of the ref being more important than any other individual, the standard is dreadful. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Oh and Burton should have had an absolute nailed on penalty about 5 minutes from the end at Pompey which would have been an equaliser. Ref booked him for diving, he was tripped. Quote
Steejay Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Stevenage should have had a penalty before any goals were scored last night, blatant handball. Quote

Whitesince63 Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Could be a really decisive day tomorrow given the Posh v Pompey game as well. I can’t make my mind up on that one whether I want Pompey to beat Posh and keep them back, since they’ve also got Derby and Barnsley in which I’d hope they’d do the same, or not? I’m not really arsed about finishing Champions, just getting automatic but really with the games remaining even two draws wouldn’t be a terrible result! 🥴 Quote

Barnsley also have a very winnable game too. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Us win and Posh and pompey draw is the ideal scenario yes that would keep posh in the mix but I’d still much rather have 5 going at 2 spots than 4 going for 1 and Pompey be away in the distance whether we finish as 1st or 2nd I couldn’t really care as long as we’re in those spots Quote
Farrelli Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 I would take a draw. Hopefully we give Derby a proper game but we do have a habit of not turning up for these types of games. Quote
gonzo Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Not sure Derby are much better at turning up for big games. We start on front foot and land the first blow I reckon its our day. Theyll shit their pants and the natives will be hysterical. Quote

We've scored more than any other side in the opening 15 minutes this season. Quote

They regularly "do us" at their place, so they will be confident. Bigger crowds than us, which is the sort of attitude some of ours have towards Wigan. We've now got to go and show what we can do and upset them. Quote

Well let’s put it this way. If we don’t belong in this division, they certainly don’t. Biggest club in the league and by some distance. Quote

Fair enough, our track record at their midden is poor, but the comment “I expect to beat Bolton at home in every single league we’re in” is just arrogance. Quote
