I'm surprised that Gareth Ainsworth hasn't had a mention. His teams not only play attacking football, but are tough. Something that we've been missing for a while.

it's because he only took the Shrewsbury job 2 months ago

Would everyone agree that Schumacher seems to be firmly in the driving seat?

I'd rather not, be a skiing crash of an appointment for me

Des Buckingham now 2/1, not sure about him tbh.

That'd be a dreadful appointment. Football he played is dire, effective in his set up against us, but that isn't much of an achievement.

To be fair I did mention him previously and I’m sure if he was the one wanted a deal could be done with the Shrews, who for me he’s wasted at. I suspect though it will be one of the list we’ve seen but Ainsworth would be just the kind of experienced character we need.

Exactly. Odds are just a reflection of where folk are chucking their money. Means fuck all

Buckingham changed the way Oxford played because of the spanking they got from us. He recognised what he had couldn’t do what he wanted. Might be novel to the majority of us after watching the last 4yrs of rigidness but adaptability is something we have cried out for. It doesn’t mean that approach is his default.

Posted elsewhere that the only gambling system that I have seen that returns good regular profit is to lay the favourites in any next manager market.

You can make good ‘regular’ profit laying a specials market with about 50 quid liquidity?

Nonsense.

I remember Giggs being 1/7 at one stage 😁

I think it was the time we appointed Lennon

Seems we have some ‘next manager odds fluctuation experts’ amongst us in the parish.

codswallop. The bookies know how to manage hearsay and careless whispers.
cut the crap and just appoint an unknown entity. Andy tut done a good job why is he not given a chance?

managers come and go but Bolton wanderers will be forever. I feel the knee jerk reaction of getting shut of Evatt could come back to bite us on the bottom.

take care Mut - have a good day

Tbh after 4 years of everything being about the tippy tappy style of football, I quite fancy a bit of aggressive, attacking stuff. Whether this lot are capable of it is another matter, of course.

I once made a decent amount laying Harry Redknapp to be Newcastle Manager, he went to about 1/10  -  one of my work colleagues told me that he was 100% going to change his mind and stay with Portsmouth (I think) so I just stuck £25 on it - which was nice.

The same bloke did also give me some other bits of "insider" knowledge after that, none of which ever happened, and probably ensured that I ended up well out of pocket

I fancy some fast aggressive attacking, but not having Buckingham based on one game

Yet below people have posted examples of having done it. Can you make millions ? No But can you make profit yes. Can you do it regularly ? Yes when the markets are available.

Good first post.

awful manager

Some good knowledgable insight into Des Buckingham there, I can clearly see why you want us to stay away. 😁

Don’t know if anyone listened to him on five live with Colin Murray prior to play-off final, cracking interview and a really interesting character. The way he’s developed his coaching and management skills, both in this country and abroad is testament to his perseverance in becoming a professional manager.

Went up too early with Oxford. But clearly there was a good foundation to build from for Rowett, he’s clearly hit the ground running.

Again not my first choice, lower down the list for me, but nothing that would fall into the category of awful, dreadful or being so definitively NO

I don’t think we’ll go down this route and I think there are better candidates out there.

But do you really think if he was appointed, it would be just based on 1 game? Get that fella in who was Aston Villa u-21s manager, they played well against us.

Do you not think they’d look into history, look into his character, question him and look at evidence on a whole load of scenarios?

Sharon isn’t cancelling bond meetings and working 24/7 to appoint someone on the back of 1 game.
