He’s not the answer though 👀

Good win in bad conditions.

Thought we were great for the first 20 minutes and Burstow deserved his goals.

After that it was a bit of a struggle for the rest of the first half. We were a bit sloppy and gave the ball away needlessly at times.

Second half wasn't pretty but we had better opportunities than them.

Happy with the win.

Come On You Whites!!!

Nobody will remember that game in a few years.

Absolute dross. Freezing, wet, windy, horrendous football.

But we won. Up the whites.

Burstow is a class above, as is Simons.

The rest, meh. They had no right to even score, they were fucking awful. Us, slightly better.

We won ugly, and deserved to win, but it should have been a so much easier afternoon. We were very sloppy at times and that gave Peterborough the ball and we made heavy weather of getting it back. I don't know but that might have been the best that Peterborough had played all season. Anyway it's a win.

*I'm struggling to figure out what Cissoko brings to the table.

Similar thoughts to others. Started very unlike us, on the front foot and made it look easy for 20 mins. You’ll struggle to find two better taken goals in the league today (and possibly this season), just proper strikers goals - he’s a class act.

All went a bit shit and sloppy after that, for the rest of the first half and their goal was coming.

2nd half was better and we had a 20 min spell where we should have killed it off with better decision making / finishing. Felt frustrating but the fact we never really looked too threatened is a big positive.

Conditions were awful and definitely didn’t help.

Christie’s first half performance showed what a step up he is at right back. Second half he slowed a bit, which is unsurprising given fitness, but I’m hopeful that he’ll make that position his own from now on.

Conway looked way off it. Played like he was half asleep which was strange, slow out to the wingers, caught in no man’s land, brushed off the ball - all very weird considering how good we know he is. Just put it down to an off day and move on, but I must admit to throwing a few verbals in the 93rd minute when he decided to run it forward rather than pass it, then lost it and left their winger completely free (who was fortunately offside or we were in big trouble).

TSL made a save, and a good one.

3 points, top scorer in the league and upwardly mobile. Skybet have us second favourites for the league, behind Cardiff - make of that what you will.

TSL saved the first shot on target!!

Burstow took both his goals really well. Thought Dalby added some steel up front when he came on. Cissoko is really poor and offers little but a few step overs. Randall was also crap, looked uninterested/knackered not long after he came on, trotting about.

Poor game, should have been well clear as they were also pretty dire.

Delighted with the 3 points, we need to stay close to the chasing pack and as results and the table shows, this league really is up for grabs.

I will complain about our game management today. So so many poor errors made particularly in transition. There were multiple occasions where all we had to do was an extra touch and we'd have punished them.

Additionally, we gave the ball away in the middle of the pitch way too often and we could've easily been punished ourselves by a stronger opponent.

Also, Cissoko, wow, how poor has he been!?I know Gale didn't have the best of games today but he has shown his worth and the front 4 looks good. But I'm worried if one of them get injured that their replacements will be subpar.

Onto Burton now where we've desperately for the first time this season got to win away from home and also win back to back games. You have to do that to remotely be in a chance or promotion.

Big coat I reckon.

They will still have the sprinklers out.

And they did 😀  They must have a secret roof they put over the pitch between matches, how else is it not wet enough today.

A miles bigger faff than it should have been but, in the conditions, a good open game with as much to like as we could probably have expected at kick off.

We should have buried them in that first 25 mins of second half but, having not done, we didn't have the tools to easily see it out. Simons unlucky for sure but otherwise the decision making in their third wasn't the best, and it was hard work closing out a 1 goal win with the likes of Cissoko and Randall on the park.

Those little gripes aside, Burstow's goals were superb, again, Christie looked higher class and showed his experience, Dalby did well when he came on and, with the focus on him, TSL did all he had to do competently in awkward conditions.

We're what we are at the minute, a talented and exciting side I enjoy watching but (apart from at the back) still lacking a bit of guile in tight game situations and a bit off the Plymouth side of SS's, which was shit hot at managing games.

They had one very good player, the young no 28, thought he was really decent

Made hard work of that but 3 points is all that matters.

Simons fantastic yet again, heart beat of this team. Johnston also good today.

Cissoko can go back, utter dog wank.

Not sure we'll be keeping this lad beyond Jan so enjoy him while we can, he's a real top talent at our level. Rapidly become one of my favourite players of recent years

Those were great finishes today.  And that's the first shot in anger he's had with his left foot, I didn't know he had that in his locker, in general play he hardly uses his left so that was a nice surprise.  His last 3 goals have been his best for us, now without a doubt our no.1 striker rather than the warm up act before Dalby gets upto speed.

Forss's 2 excellent shots first half were left footed, he looks very comfortably with either foot, but it has to be said his involvement in the last 2 games has been minimal aside from a few shots, I expected more build up play from him because he looks talented but doesn't get involved as much as for eg Collins - so far.

I'm really presently surprised at just how good he is

His stats didn't enthuse at all when he signed

He's scored more in 11 games for us then he did in his previous 78 games at 5 different clubs

Lad can finish and make chances for himself, he'll do for me

Dunno. Ollie McBurnie was MOTM earlier, largely for his defensive work as much as his hold up play and they’ve got 3 other expensive strikers.

I agree, Hull don't need Burstow any more now than they did in August when he was surplus to requirements.  Scoring goals in L1 and being a championship player are 2 different things - Collins and Charles for eg (and yes Burstow has more to his game than those 2).

I thought when we signed him that he'd either become a really important player for us or have barely any impact, no middle ground

I'm very pleased it seems to be the former

He looks like he's loving it here as well

Along with all the awkward stuff which was fantastic today in awful conditions, he made a couple of good saves too, hopefully enough to stop all this over-analysis of whether he can be a a good goalkeeper in L1

MOTM 2nd half by a mile (Forino and Simons above average too)

Yeh it’s another +1 for Johnston here too, I really don’t get the criticism he’s getting.

And this is from someone who was questioning his status at the beginning of this season.

I think he’s been our most consistent performer this season

Conway looks like he’s playing a training game at half pace.

To be fair that's his usual playing style, but I agree that was his least impressive performance that I've seen.  Seemed to be playing with the handbrake on and Posh had a field day down their right.  Surely would have been subbed for Taylor if he'd been on bench.
