If we do get up this season it will be a limp up not the strong and exciting promotions of the Rioch and Toddy eras. When their teams went out you expected a win but I can’t actually remember feeling that during the whole Evatt era and certainly not under Schumacher. I still find it quite hard to believe that we’re where we are because despite some exciting comebacks the majority of games have been just a slog. I don’t care how we do it, I just want us to get up and if we do then we can worry about a new team over the summer. Tuesday is now a must win for me and I fully expect the boys to continue with the inconsistency but come out with the 3 points in another difficult game to watch.

Going to a home game, I felt more confident of a win under Evatt than I have under Schumacher. I still think he's the right man for the job and needs another window, but it's been difficult watching us this season.

Not disagreeing with that but SS has improved our home results in that we got to Christmas without losing.  We've still only lost 1 (god knows how admittedly).  Under IE, we had the regular horror shows against the Wigans and Sheff Wed/Huddersfields, as well as the shockers v Exeter and Carlisle etc.

I turn up at home matches expecting a result under SS, but absolutely not expecting to enjoy it!  Away from home, its just flat and boring with the very occasional exception balanced by the embarrassing one's (Burton, Swindon).  Aways were better under IE with some comfortable wins (v bottom half teams).

I can see Luton being dark horses. They are 33/1 for promotion.

The one I’ve got my eye on too - really hope that Stevenage keep up some form (post us obviously) and keep them out.

Good points. I have clearly wiped the Wigan home games from my memory. I'm not for one second suggesting I would rather have Evatt over Schumacher. My feelings about the Evatt era are sentimental more than anything, due to the ages of my kids at the time etc.

6 points is a lot to make up in 5 games

It’ll be 3 points when we beat Stevenage on Tuesday. They have a better GD than Stevenage too.

Stevenage’s next game after us is Lincoln.

At the start of the season I thought we'd blow teams away at home more often than not. Especially anyone in the bottom half - we beat Plymouth, Wigan, Port Vale and Wimbledon by an aggregate of 13-1 (22% of our goals this season in four games).

Then that team just disappeared. Around about the time Burstow's form went off a cliff.

Agreed, upto November I thoroughly enjoyed going to the home games, they were a pleasure to watch and part of me still expects that every time I turn up, but the optimism for entertainment has been gradually eroded since December.  If we have a convincing performance in the next 3 home games (or Bradford) it would definitely improve confidence for the play offs.

Huge game at city next weekend

Said for quite some time whoever wins this match wins the title

Arsenal still favourites but wouldn't bet against city now

I think it's City's title now.

Hope so. I could watch em all day when they play like they are at the minute.

I can't see past the 4 that are in the playoffs now.

Stevenage in the best form currently of the 4, Stockport 6 games in 17 days ahead of the playoffs and disappointing result at Wembley yesterday. Our own form very patchy, Bradford been up and down recently.

All 4 much stronger at home than away, all 3 will offer tests of a different kind but that 2nd leg at home could be a massive advantage.

Same. The gap seems too big now.

Look at Luton’s remaining games. Plus us last league game

Stevenage have Barnsley, Wigan and Donny.

and Wigan are one of form teams since Caldwell went back. If you do your job tomorrow and Lincoln (more likely) beat them Saturday, then it’s open again. Think they will grind you down to their level though.
