Says they are shit and vulnerable to pace at the back. On the pitch he says one side is just sand (in front of the dug outs) where the drainage they had put in last year has failed, but been dry for a few days so should be not too bad but is a mess. Assume Schuey will know this and it would seem to make playing a winger on that side pointless. I would go with Dalby up front with Kenny and Gale to exploit this lack of pace. This leaves 3 in midfield so Dempsey, Ethan and Simons for me - do not think a ploughed field is one for Sheehan.  He also said the fans feel the players have given up on the league and keeping themselves fit for the Chelsea cup game. So let’s get at them and run them off the pitch. Quote

Need to find a good owner to invest in a decent squad. I thought they push on when promoted but they’ve just gone backwards again. Quote

The City of Stoke has a smaller population than the Borough of Bolton. It’s the smallest settlement in England with two league clubs. Can it really support two big professional teams? Quote

Their highest average attendance in history was just over 20,000 in 1955. Never played in the top tier either. Quote

I’m not comparing them to mega clubs but they’re just one of those clubs that you think should be bigger than they are. I may be wrong and it might be because I worked there, just my thoughts on it. Like me and others, you can speculate as fans do, as to what the team might be. Fine, it’s what we do as fans. But I have a feeling you believe, steadfastly, that this is what should happen. You believe you are right. Schumacher is wrong?   Quote
masi 51 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Nothing wrong with both the team and formationZog1 has picked it would be more solid than SS formation. I think like a growing number that SS sticking with two wingers and having only two in midfield is indeed holding us back We are ponderous and slow and SS has for me certainly got it wrong, but it matters not only SS can change that or this time next season he will go the same way as Evatt. I think sooner or later he will change it. Quote

I think sooner or later he will change it. Nothing wrong at all, it’s a fan opinion. I like the to and fro banter we have. And I respect your opinion. But I’ll repeatedly say, you, zog, and a few others come across, (to me at least) as posters who believe their opinion is on a level of that as professional manager, which should be listened to above our current manager. Zog1 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Might i just add that the formation i selected above is the formation SS has ALREADY used to get promoted from this league before. I might also add that in Plymouth's season in the Championship he started by playing 433 but due to being inconsistent away from home and defensive leaks (sound familiar)? he switched back to 3421 in most games. So it isn't that "believe their opinion is on a level of that as professional manager" I'm using THEIR own tactical decisions and analysis as a template for my own analysis. Does this make sense? hope that helped. If a doctor comes upto you and says i'm going to chop your head off to make your knee feel better, you wouldn't just keep quiet because he's a doctor he must know more. masi 51 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 You have played that card in the past......The one saying everything a professional manager does is correct. It is clearly not or they would not get sacked so much. Only SS opinion counts and i am certainly in his camp. I t does not say i agree with everything he does. At the moment he is doing more right than wrong. Though some bad habits are repeated week in, week out  Quote
